The Society Rooms - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Maidstone

Went in to get a take away coffee. It took a while before I was served. It looked like only two people actually serving. The girl behind the bar finally asked ''Who's next?'' even though I had been standing right in front of her, she was looking at someone next to me. I told her I was. This seemed to niggle her so I got a brief and curt response but was only able to decipher ''...at the end of the bar for your latte.'' I stood at the end of the bar waiting for the drink. I watched the two girls behind the bar and neither of them was making a coffee. I saw a man standing nearby and asked him if he knew where to wait for hot drinks. I went back to the bar and by an amazing coincidence, the girl who was ill-mannered some minutes before was saying to a customer ''I thought he was first... (Not these exact words). I said ''No, I was.'' She glared at me and replied ''I'm not talking to you,'' attempting to say she was talking about another, similar occurrence. Mmmmm, quelle surprise. I returned to the end of the bar and the man I spoke to before pointed to a machine and explained it was a do-it-yourself. He told me he had asked for some milk for his tea and was still waiting. Eventually someone appeared with a take away cup and milk. While he waited for his milk and I made the drink, we spoke about the amount of young people these days being disrespectful and not having the ability to communicate effectively or given the customer service training to be...

Food was absolutely disgusting. Ordered the large mixed grill accompanied by an extra grill chicken breast to which the chicken was hard and definitely not grilled the gammon was burnt and over cooked the lamp was hard and I never got a pork loin to even comment on. I was told by one member of staff that being an expensive meal I cannot have a refund to which I spoke to the manager who offered me one. After being left for around half an hour waiting to hear back I finally got a receipt for my refund which not only did the hard chicken not get refunded but also the price of the mixed grill was also not refunded to the price I paid for it. Over all very unhappy and angry about this and will be taking this alot further. I will not return here for food if...

Stopped off at Society rooms for a Sunday meal. Got there just after 5pm and met our son. Ordered and paid for meal at counter. Meal arrived just as my wife had got up to go and see why it took so long to serve. Order was wrong and my chips were cold and stale. They took my meal away to replace the chips and said they would get order corrected. By the time my replacement chips arrived my steak and egg were cold. The replacement correct order took so long to arrive my son and i had finished our meals. I we use Weatherspoons pubs all over the country and this was the worst meal we have had, both in service and quality. I would not recommend this pub's food to anyone based on this meal.
