UK Fish Bar — Restaurant in Maldon

Lived in Maldon 6 yrs now..always heard the fish n chips at UK FISH BAR were really good, so last night my family popped to 'Wantz Road Maldon' to try it. Was around 8.30pm Friday 12/11/2021 and I think they close at 9.30pm so wasn't sure how the food would be an hour before closing.. No worries at all..all freshly cooked whilst we waited..looked, smelt and tasted wonderful..family had the scampi and devoured it quickly it was that nice..I had a medium cod and regular chips..my cod could have easily fed 2 ..My son had large cod and large chips..again lovely cooked fish..light crispy batter ..not soggy..great chips..and a large portion of chips could easily feed 2 adults or 3 kids..The chip shop was so clean and tidy..friendly lady serving us and good prices too ..especially for the quality and portion size.. Will definately return there ..10 out of 10 all round for this place. No eat in area but just buy and take it home and enjoy. There's also a nice little pub across the road to it 'The Borough Arms' ..great landlord with friendly staff..pop in there have a drink then cross over the road and buy your fish n chips to...

Found this place purely by chance as I'm from outta town. When I'm in the area or near I make an effort to go as it is good. Big portions. Chips nicely done. Fish good too, although last few times I've been, the fish size seems to have been getting smaller for a regular cod/haddock, but still really good. quality. Nice family. Service with a smile sometimes. Not easy to park outside though as competing with residential parking and double yellow lines. Still...

Quick bite to eat after swimming at Blackwater leisure. Food was freshly cooked while we waited and chips and batter were nice and crispy as a result! Great to find battered halloumi as a veggie alternative to fish in batter! Tasted lovely Whenever we want fish and chips in the future well drive the extra distance to go to...
