Today me and my friend went for a coffee with our 10&8month old little boys. We gave them their lunch there & as they are babies they did drop a few bits but wasn’t a lot at all as both babies refused to eat & became unsettled & were crying. Me and my friend both decided to go so packed our things up in a hurry to get the babies out of the shop to try and settle them. I left, my friend was putting her baby in the pram & trying to get her things together to then be approached by a member of staff there who said “are you not going to apologise?” To which she replied “what for?” And he said “the mess you’ve left on the floor” She said “oh sorry we’re trying to settle the babies as they are crying” He then told her she’s the mother she should be tidying up the mess & that her attitude was disgusting! My friend left and came and told me what had happened so I went back in. Approached the same guy and asked for his name. He then told me I don’t need his name I obviously said yes I do, you are extremely rude! He then tells me he doesn’t need to give me his name because he’s the manager. Then I say you have been rude to my friend because we left a bit of food on the floor because our babies were crying. To then be called a liar because he said “I didn’t hear any babies crying” I then asked the lady who was at the till for his name & she wouldn’t give it to me either & said he was the manager. He then continued to raise his voice at me telling me to leave the shop and that I should clean up because I’m the mother!
I am absolutely gobsmacked at the way we were treated as young women with babies who were very clearly distressed. I have never in my life been treated this way by someone who works in hospitality! I definitely won’t be returning & I hope to be contacted by cafe Nero about this man they have working for them!...
Read moreMy husband and I visited Cafe Nero on 1 July for the first time in ages. We used to love the coffee and ambience. What a disappointment! We purchased two grande Americanos and two toasted teacakes and sat outside to enjoy them. Sadly, although the teacakes were good the coffee was watery - something we never thought could be levelled against Cafe Nero. I started to queue to complain but the queue was so long that we decided to leave the coffee and go. What a waste of money! Needless to say, we won't...
Read moreVery busy at the time we visited and no tables had been cleared. The whole place just felt dirty from the floor upwards, chairs with fabric coverings were marked on the arms had gone smooth from the volume of use and looked greasy. Walked into the toilet and was instantly hit by the smell of urine, really unpleasant. Knives and forks also unclean so much so that my elderly mother refused to use them and used her fingers instead! This place needs a severe deep clean and a management team to keep...
