I am giving this fast food takeaway one star (only because it is compulsory), due to the fact that the amount of times I have been here to get keema (mince) rice I have disappointed and I have not experienced a pleasant time. Every time I go, there seems to be an issue, varying from their service, portion size, and cutlery. First off let’s talk about their portion size, the people that work here have no understanding of portion sizes. Sometimes they will give you a normal plastic container full with rice, other times they will give you a very small foil container which is very small compared to the plastic container, clearly it depends on their mood and not the professional manner of which they should be acting. Today when I went they didn’t bother with cutlery or tissue, I don’t know if you see this as a positive but for the first time they gave me sauce when I never even asked for it.. so they can forget basic necessities but put sauce that I didn’t even ask for? Last but not least, their staff, management &/or service. When telling them, you have an issue with the portion size or the fact that they didn’t give cutlery they become extremely aggressive and argumentative very quickly. This is so unprofessional because the amount of other takeaways I’ve been to and if I’ve ever had an issue they are always happy to help and are very apologetic. Me and my family even spoke to them in Urdu & Punjabi which is the staff’s first language in hope that we could reason with them or they would understand us more. But they lived up to our negative expectations (based on past experiences) of becoming argumentative and point blank rude. I wouldn’t recommend this place because although their keema rice is edible I wouldn’t be in a hurry to ever...
Read moreNEVER AGAIN. THEY SERVE MEAT RAW AND WILL GIVE YOU FOOD POISONING!!!
I have been coming to Abdul's for over 20 years for their kebabs but of my last three visits over the last two months TWICE I've got food poisoning because the seek kebabs have been very undercooked / raw inside. The outside of the kebabs is charcoal'd (fine) but the inside is dreadfully undercooked (not fine). I wish I'd taken a photo for here.
The first time I was there and got food poisoning was an evening about 2 months ago. The second time I went in (and was ok) a customer who was dining in went bananas at the staff because the chicken kebab he was eating was RAW inside (he brought it to the counter and I could see the chicken was raw). The last time I went in was 4 days ago and about a quarter the way through eating the kebab I realised it was undercooked. I told the staff and one said it was fine (yeah right) but the second made me a new kebab. By this time (it turned out) it was too late and my stomach was ruined.
My parents have also reported to getting poorly after buying a kebab from Abduls over the last few months.
It's a shame this place has suddenly gone so down hill. I'm not going to risk going back and 100% do not...
Read moreWasn't sure what to expect as it had been 10years+ since I last went to an Abduls. Walking in I wasn't expecting the best - the guy behind the till didn't even have the manners to return my greeting.
I ordered a mixed kebab (chicken tikka and lamb seekh) with chips, total cost approx £8.60, and to be fair the food wasn't bad at all. The kebabs were well cooked, and flavoursome, and the chicken wasn't raw as in some other places. All in all, a decent meal although I can't help imaging it would not be the same if we'd taken it home or had home delivery.
They had plenty of seating so we sat inside (no sign of any Covid cleaning after each customer) and there seemed to be a funny yoghurty sort of smell in the air. Parking is also awkward as it's on a main road, although plenty available in side streets.
A decent place (a couple of friendly lads we met in there said they regularly visit all the way from Liverpool), recommended and will...
