I came to this dessert place today just after 8pm as it was close by to the restaurant I just went to. I thought the interior looked really pretty and the halal sign on the door sold me. So I came in with two of my friends. My friends placed the order and we sat down. For reference, I ordered the Nutella crepe, paid extra for the marshmallows, and English breakfast tea. When the food arrived, they had forgotten the milk to my tea so I quickly asked and the guy was confused and thought I was talking about milk cake but eventually went to get it. I’m just going to add that the staff spoke broken English. I started to eat my crepe and noticed it was borderline cooked, so I chose to eat the marshmallows instead. The marshmallows were incredibly stale, so I called someone over and told them. The woman was confused and said she’d go and ask someone. When she returned, she said that their marshmallows are hard and that’s how they put them on. I said to her that they aren’t freeze dried ones and shouldn’t be hard, they have been left out. I’ve attached an image of my dessert showing the wrinkled and shrivelled marshmallows. She asked what I wanted to do and I said I wanted to request a refund but I was willing to pay for my tea. She disappeared for like 10 mins and didn’t come back until I called her back and she said her manager was busy so. I asked her nicely to get somebody else and eventually the guy came and asked if there was an issue. I explained to him about the marshmallows and his excuse was laughable. He said the marshmallows are halal so are a bit hard. I then proceeded to lift my fork and show him how hard they were and hit on them and they wouldn’t even break. He looked and asked if I wanted something else and I said no. He reiterated that he is Muslim and halal marshmallows are hard, to which I responded that I am also Muslim and they shouldn’t be. He then said that they don’t normally serve them like that. They normally put them on cream. I said, that wouldn’t make them softer. Surely putting mini marshmallows on a hot crepe would soften them up more than cold cream? He had no answer. I requested my refund and the woman returned with it in cash, despite paying by card? I counted it and she gave me the wrong amount and didn’t even include the marshmallow amount which I paid extra for. I then tried to call her over and I swear she ignored me because she looked right at me. She eventually came over and gave me the correct amount and proceeded to clean the plates whilst my friends and I were still seated. I asked her why she didn’t come back after saying she’d get the manager and she said he was busy. I asked why she didn’t just tell me that so I’d know to wait, to which she responded in broken English that she’s new and she doesn’t know the refund policy. I said you should have just gotten somebody else who does know because there were two other guys working there. I don’t think I’ve experienced such bad service in my life. All I wanted was an apology which she muttered at the end and still smiled. Like if they had just apologised and not fed me the terrible excuse about halal marshmallows, I wouldn’t have even requested a refund. I’m literally the same ethnicity and religion as them and still they felt the need to try and use this poor excuse and justify the rock hard marshmallows. Truth be told I’m confused how they are still open with their poor service and language barrier. I mean I guess it explains why the dessert place was empty when I entered to begin with. Truly a...
Read moreAs my time in Manchester drew to a close, I sought to culminate my visit with a truly memorable experience. A dessert shop seemed the perfect choice to savour the sweet side of Manchester first-hand. After a brief search, Crema Dolce emerged with a formidable online reputation and vibrant personality, prompting my brother and me to explore its offerings. [Please read the summary at the bottom of this review for a quick read].
Upon entering, we were greeted by a delightful surprise: the décor was simply enchanting, adorned in colours of pink and white that gave a whimsical charm. The bustling atmosphere filled with smiling customers heightened our anticipation. Guided to our table by a friendly waiter, we couldn't help but marvel at the brilliance of the décor, warranting a resounding 5/5 rating.
The service proved equally commendable, characterised by simplicity and clarity. With menus in hand, we were instructed to approach the till when ready to order. The process was seamless, leaving us with a favourable impression. Such flawless service undoubtedly deserves a perfect score of 5/5.
After perusing the enticing menu, we settled on our selections: "White Chocolate Iced Doughnut" for me, and the "Oreo Iced Doughnut" for my brother as starters. For the main course, I opted for the indulgent "Biscoff Cookie Dough," while my brother embarked on the adventurous journey of the "OreLotus Crepe," each accompanied by a refreshing scoop of ice cream.
Our starters arrived promptly, and the presentation was simply sensational. The single iced doughnut elevated to an art form, evoking genuine excitement with its immaculate appearance and sumptuous toppings. The taste surpassed expectations, delivering a soft, creamy delight that left us in awe. Without hesitation, both doughnuts received a well-deserved 5/5 rating.
Moving on to the main courses, we were once again greeted with impeccable timing. The presentation of the "OreLotus Crepe" was nothing short of perfection, while the "Biscoff Cookie Dough," although less visually striking, dazzled with its exquisite texture and flavour profile. Each bite of the cookie dough was a symphony of softness and creaminess, complemented flawlessly by the cold ice cream. It earned an exceptional 5.5/5 rating, while the crepe, with its flawless structure and divine taste, soared beyond perfection to a brilliant 6/5.
Despite their indulgent nature, the dishes maintained a delicate balance of sweetness, though it's worth noting to all customers that these desserts still do have a fair amount of sugar.
To conclude our Indelible experience, we ordered the "Kinder Bueno Milkshake" for takeaway. While initially satisfactory, it fell slightly short in temperature as it could have been colder, though its flavour remained pleasing. It rounded off our experience admirably, earning a respectable 4/5 rating.
Reflecting on our time at Crema Dolce, every aspect—service, food, and overall experience—was undeniably impeccable. In a rare departure from the norm, I am compelled to award a rating beyond the constraints of the conventional scale—a resounding 6/5. For anyone venturing to Manchester, this establishment comes highly recommended.
My final rating: 6/5 (though limited to 5/5)....
Read moreThe photo you see was three years ago but last night that changed, when I ordered a chocoholic waffle and pistachio passion waffle. The pistachio passion was missing an extra which I asked for to be added but it did not bother me till I found hair a cooked inside the waffle I phoned the business I requested to speak to the owner who I seen when I entered the premises. But the employee was saying the owner isn't here so he did offer me replacement, the individual was polite who picked up the phone and apologised sincerely. It is a horrid feeling in the mouth when your pulling hair out and then find long piece of hair baked in the waffle. As I did not get to have a chance to speak to the manager/owner of the business I thought I would let you know if your employees did not convey back to you via review. I did not want to post this experience as I would of liked to have informed you on the phone and neither do I want a free replacement due to this experience.
I wish you all the best...
