The Great Central - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in Manchester

The blue haired waitress was incredibly rude to our table. She shouted at our table like we were school children. She brought over food someone in our table had ordered and after asking once who had ordered it, to which everyone looked around to see whose food it was, she immediately started yelling ‘EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION WHO ORDERED THIS’. I would understand if we had ignored her for a long time but it was almost immediately after she approached our table. Later on, she also slammed my food on the table in front of me and threw the cutlery so that it landed in the food. Very unimpressed. I was completely sober and my friends had not drunken much. She then refused to give my friends the drinks they had already paid for and told them off for drinking the drinks that were already on our table because she had decided to cut us off without actually telling us - despite us not being very intoxicated at all. I am very unimpressed and have never experienced such rude service. I have also worked in hospitality for many years and understand that you can have bad or stressful days but never have I treated customers...

Visited this bar as we were flying from Manchester airport next day , stood waiting to be served drinks at bar for 20 mins at least only to be told they only serve from the middle ........ The bar staff are ignorant and only serve people first that face fits , we then eventually found a seat as to order food only to be greeted by the none smiling miserable faced barmaid we had earlier , I ordered burgers only to be told there were none left and if I need to go back and ask my girlfriend what other food she would like I would lose my place and have to stand again in line in the middle . I ordered something different and yes it was brought relatively quickly for this reason only I give two stars , my honest opinion is if your 25 and under them yes this is the place for you only because you go to college or university with the staff , me I'm 48 and was made to look like a fool when the barmaid talked down to me , obviously wasn't brought up with...

Went for Saturday breakfast, the value for money is incredible. 3 breakfasts including unlimited coffee only a tad over £18. However eggs Benedict were cold on arrival. But my traditional breakfast was spot on as was the freedom Breakfast. Was a hot day and I am assuming the air con broke down because my god it was warm in there. But the Erdinger was nice and cold. Some other interesting canned craft beers were consumed. I think the glass washer needs a service. And much amusement had watching the police attempt to apprehend a man with one foot in a cast. Ordering on the app is supposed to alleviate pressure on the bar and make it convenient and speedy for us as a customer,however one round took 10 minutes to arrive. Minor gripe. I love Spoons.
