After seeing a few posts recently, and being in the area, thought we would drop in and see what the score was with Brodega. Innocently rocked up expecting to order, not realising it was online orders only. The hatch pictured on most posts I'd seen was actually a different guy doing burgers & kebabs who must get really peeved. Rang the bell and one of the guys promptly came out and explained but to his credit, said he'd get sandwiches going while we placed an order online and then bring them out to the car when ready. We got one chicken and one beef. No pictures as there's already plenty in the reviews and you get what is pictured on the website. Can only say they were well worth the wait. £13 might sound a lot for a lunchtime sandwich but when a 12" sub from the highstreet can be around a tenner the extra £3 is plain to see as soon as you unwrap these monsters. You don't strips of meat here - you get full on chicken breast, well cooked and brimming with flavour. TBH I preferred the chicken over the beef but that's only down to my personal taste. 2 things spring to mind... Think they're missing a beat not having a 6" 'lil-Bro for say £7. Shouldn't be long before an expansion is on the cards. Think they're missing somewhere that has passing trade, but with the simplicity of deliveries these days maybe I'm just a bit...

Brodega serves up hefty, flavour-packed halal sandwiches with top-notch service. Easily a new contender for Manchester’s best.
Tucked away in the car park of the Universal Building on Devonshire Street North, Brodega is a new sandwich spot that’s already making big impressions—literally and figuratively.
I stopped by at 3pm and was greeted by Mujtaba, one of the co-owners, who guided me through the online-only, cashless order process. He was super helpful, making sure I took advantage of their generous buy-one-get-one-free deal.
Heads up: parking in the area is free after 6pm, but Mujtaba kindly advised me to leave the car park promptly to avoid a fee. That kind of honest service goes a long way.
As for the food, the packaging, presentation, and taste were all a solid 10/10. When I picked up the Chicken sandwich, I could immediately feel the weight of it. This thing was hefty, stacked with flavour and absolutely satisfying. Honestly, I think it beats Fat Pats, and that’s saying something for Manchester.

Read moreCame to Brodega which is in an industrial area, rang the doorbell and was greeted by the brother who told me place an order on the website so make sure you do that before you turn up, regardless we ended up waiting no more than 10ish mins. We ended up eating in the car parked up outside. We got the chopped cheese, wanted to try the chicken one too but no way I could finish both even with help. The sandwich was quite big, lots of filling. Gonna get quite technical and "foodie influencer" here. The meat was light and well cooked, there was pickles and grilled onions, mayonnaise, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, not just your standard american cheese, it was cheddar and mozzarella, all chopped up, sauced and stuffed into some delightfully chewy and crispy hearty Italian bread. Really did give NYC bodega vibes. Definitely gonna come back and try the chicken one. Give this place a try. I admit £12.99 for a sandwich is a bit steep but it's cheaper than Fat Pats. And it wasn't as busy either....
