Fobbed off by a rude manager who insisted on putting my toastie and coffee through as separate items in the 5 minutes before the 11am discounted offer for the two came into effect. It made no difference to anyone, offer or no offer, and should have gone through as a single transaction without the offer. The mere lighthearted suggestion of the misfortune of missing out, and a faint expression of slight disappointment at the timing, seemed to provoke an unnecessary display of corporate authority as the manager purposely divided my order into two separate transactions, seemingly for no reason other than to rub my nose in it. As if that were not enough, I sat down nearby to drink my coffee and waited to be called for my toastie. It got left on the counter to go cold while customers and staff talked and quite possibly spluttered over it. I was never called for it. The overall shop was grim, my glass was dirty and my spoon was stained. The toilets had paper and soap everywhere and the toilet was disgusting also all the tables had crumbs on and were dirty and the chairs were stained. And not to mention my they didn't put soya milk in my drink when I specifically told the barista taking my order that I MUST have soya milk due to my allergies.
