I had not tried this sushi restaurant so prioritised it before going to a gig. Although the booking system said it was full I arrived to find it empty.
We were warmly greeted and offered an extensive food and drink menu. Lots of great sake, Japanese whiskey to choose from and Japanese dishes.
Between us, we ordered a matcha beer, yuzu highball, salmon nigiri, tuna hosemaki, tonkatsu ramen and plum belly pork.
The cocktails were very refreshing and the matcha beer interesting however will keep them separate going forward! The sushi was super fresh and tasty however the pork was a little dry and chewy.
The ramen looked lovely presentation wise but the flavours were just very creamy and hate to say it but a little bland with two pieces of dry chewy pork on the side. The server had recommended a ramen place that wasn't here so should have taken that as a sign 🤔
The ramen did come with sweet tofu nigiri which was a nice surprise .

Read moreMy partner and I had a marvellous time celebrating his birthday here yesterday. The place is beautifully decorated and very intimate with only a few tables. The food was incredible, I would easily say one of the best sushi places in Manchester, super fresh fish and excellent cuts. We had sushi rolls, sashimi, pork skewers and sides with the lychee highball - all were an absolute treat. Staff were extremely attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even better, it feels so rare to have high quality service these days so kudos to the team. The bartender Joe in particular was very knowledgeable and we really enjoyed learning about the drinks menu and what he was working on. Many thanks to the whole team for creating a wonderful and unique experience for us, we will definitely be coming back and have been recommending to...

Service is quite slow though and prices are quite dear overall.
Edit: been here for the cocktails now a few times also and have tried the majority of them, really admire the creativity and the way it’s portrayed on the menu as it helps decide based on your pallet and would heavily recommend the ube. I have noticed on all visits that there seems to be an abundance in fruit fries around the place which is quite distracting.
The female staff and Japanese male staff are super helpful and friendly with cocktail choices but other staff seem to be quite loud sometimes doing their own thing which is quite disruptive, the service is also quite slow and sometimes they have forgot my drink order at times. The closing times are also quite misleading as it shows 12am close on Saturday but we were told it...
