Unfortunately I didn't have the best experience here. Racial profiling alive and well with the staff here.

I'll try not to be too detailed, but i was, quite rightly asked to check in to the venue for track and trace, so I did so. Was then approached by bouncer and asked to check in again, although strange (as I had already successfully checked in) I checked in again. Was then stopped again almost immediately by the bouncer as they said they had a message from the bar staff that I hadn't checked in, to which I asked how (in a group of 23 people) did the bar staff know I specifically had not checked in?

Bouncer couldn't answer this question, but yet again I checked in. Now at this point, being the only person of ethnicity in my group, I'm starting to get a little worried about how I had been specifically been pointed out by the bar staff as having not checked in (even though I had 3 times, and other members of my group , who are all white, saying they were having trouble checking in, although they were not challenged at all by the bar staff or bouncers).

It gets worse. Decide to put it behind me, I ordered a drink at the bar, go to the loo. Upon my return, I am pulled aside and asked again by the same bouncers to check in for the fourth time, as the bar staff are telling him again I have not checked in!!! Now I am getting a little frustrated, and they will not answer my questions about how the bar staff are singling me out, even though I have checked in on multiple occasions. I show the bouncer my check in history on the Covid App, showing I had indeed checked in in the few minutes prior, numerous times. They didn't care and asked me again to check in, embarrassing me in front of my group and other patrons, making me feel humiliated and inferior.

If it wasn't for the fact that I was in a big group, all out celebrating together (albeit on separate tables of 6 etc), I would have gone elsewhere.

Not impressed, absolutely disgraceful behaviour and treatment from the staff, with no regard to the way they were making me and my group feel. We had done nothing wrong, we're being compliant, and have no problem in checking in to the venue etc, it's a real shame they seem to think they can get away with this...

We held a 21st birthday celebration in 'The greenhouse' at Brickhouse in September. The deposit to secure the space was £600 (to be refunded if the bar total reached £4,000). The venue is in a great location and The greenhouse had the potential to be a great space for the party. After much research this was the chosen option. I feel compelled to write this review following a lack of response from the venue (until today when a response was chased from the original email sent in early September), to warn other potential hirers of the space. When paying £600 to hire a drinks venue it is my expectation that the bar will be stocked to cater for the number of people it holds (and the £4,000 expected spend). The reality was that within an hour of the start, the bar ran out of white wine and prosecco, draft Guinness and draft cider. When asking on the night what could be done about the issue, the reason given for lack of wine and prosecco was a busy bottomless brunch. It took some negotiation on the night before more stocks were sourced from an alternative bar, this was not done proactively and detracted from what should have been a relaxed and happy occasion. The bar have refused to take responsibility for the lack of stock citing the availability of more expensive bottled options, and that due to the fact we were £1,000 under the spend threshold and we hadn't 'pre-ordered drinks' they would not be considering any refund. A refund was never going to be requested (regardless of bar spend) until the significant stock issues were encountered. I would caution anyone who is thinking of booking this venue, and paying the deposit, based on our experience, to make sure the venue makes adequate provision...

One of the worst places I have ever been.

I rang and booked a pool table last night checking which of their two venues to go to and being told I was now in the book. I specifically checked the venue as I was informed there are two. When I arrived only half an hour later nothing was in the book, they said I never called and were very surly. It ended up in a confrontation with me showing them my phone and them disputing I had the right number because I didn't know who I spoke to. That person had not said their name but told me, when and where to arrive. Nobody wanted to sort it even though clearly a pool table was and remained empty. I am a calm guy who engaged with them sensibly but do not like being told I am a liar or do not know how to make a booking.

The drinks ordering was slow, incorrect and over priced.

The same then happened with another group immediately after I stepped back from the bar which went from a loud row towards a physical fight between staff and the group who were similarly told they were liars (I heard the bar staff say that). There is clearly an issue on their phones that they will not accept meaning they routinely argue with customers (two in five minutes indicates a problem).

There was real attitude behind the bar and it got quite intimidating. No wonder others kicked off. Our whole group left and did not finish their drinks.

The review experience of others was not what we felt. Their staff were far beyond rude and acted like arrogant bouncers rather than any kind of bar staff. Maybe it is better earlier in the day but I would not go back, especially later...

Staff are quite pleasant but with covid it’s a bit of a joke. Security ask for ID (despite obviously looking of age). I asked for them/I to have hand sanitiser before/after handling my ID and they pointed at a dispenser that had been empty for weeks. Same issue at the bar when requesting a pool table (asks for ID with no sanitiser).. The toilets are under refurbishment, had to use the club toilets downstairs which were grim. The free pool when buying drinks is great but the place is down hill since being black dog.

Really cool place for a bottomless brunch, the room is a bit of a sweat box on hot days as it’s essentially a greenhouse with no air conditioning or fans 🤷🏼‍♂️ but the food is delicious and the drinks aren’t bad either , the bottomless brunch is what you’d come to expect of these places they don’t want to get you constant drinks but the service was still reasonably quick. The pizzas are also a great addition and have a wider variety to choose from than the drinks.

Visited Brickhouse Social today with colleagues for 80s themed Bottomless Brunch. We all had a fantastic time and was well worth the money. All you could drink cocktails (Tainted Love was divine) and different pizzas which were all exquisite The staff were welcoming, attentive and made sure our glasses were always filled up. DJ played some bangers from the 80s and we didn't want it to end. Such a fabulous 2 hours. We will definitely be back!
