Nordie — Restaurant in Manchester

Well what can I say upon entering the facilities the customer service greeting was basically zero. But the entrance seating area was lovely. The treatment was pretty cool, value for money even if the decor in the treatment rooms facilities could do with being a bit more spacious to accommodate the number of clients having similar treatment (Hamam steam body scrub with moroccan soap was excellent £40) could do with improvement with some privacy - too open. The ladies (staff) were chatting between each other laughing & giggling (whilst carrying out the treatment) which was concerning/rude and a tad off putting, Treatment felt a bit rushed and at the end of the treatment no mint tea to rehydrate was offered. What a MASSIVE surprise! Nordie is very understated but such a great place. Soap Street Pizza have taken over the kitchen and the food is outstanding. We have eaten pizza in Italy and New York but, I’m not joking, this was the best we’ve ever had. The menu is not huge but the craftsmanship and combinations are superb. So thin and moreish. We went down to Manchester for this from Lancaster and to catch up with our daughter and we only talked about the food. Service was casual and lovely and the Negronis were excellent. Not expensive at all for what you get and what looked like some great craft beers and specially selected ‘low impact’ wines. Amazing. 10/10 food and service was sublime. Could not fault anything. The waiter was charming with great recommendations of where to go for a drink nearby afterwards. The food was cooked to perfection. The price is cheap for the standard of food and service. I’ve marked the atmosphere down slightly only because… I really didn’t expect the music to be as load as it was and it to be so busy with people standing everywhere. Glad to see business is good, it deserves to be. Was just suprised as expected it to be more of a restaurant than a bar, glad it’s both, just was a bit of a suprise (I guess if your looking for an intimate, relaxed meal this might not be the right vibe on a Saturday, has a bit more of a lively energy).
