I can’t believe how consistently bad my experiences have been at this restaurant. I ordered through Uber Eats at 4:14pm, got there by 4:50pm, and was told my food would be ready in 13 minutes. Fine, I waited. After 13 minutes, nothing came out. I told the guy I was running late for work and needed my food NOW, and he just disappeared behind the counter, coming back to casually toss my plantain and yam in a bag without a word, then went back to his phone. Another 10 minutes passed, and still nothing. At this point, I just walked off with my plantain and yam, leaving the beans behind, because I honestly don’t even know if they had started cooking them at all.

And this isn’t the first time I’ve had to deal with this level of incompetence. I once recommended this place to a friend, and she placed an order for £110. She ordered in advance, selected a pickup time of 2:40pm, and when we arrived, the same guy told us the order wasn’t ready. No one had called to let us know, and we were told we should have been notified. I didn’t leave until 4:17pm. The place is a joke, and their customer service is beyond terrible.

Myself and my partner attended Africa Oye in Liverpool’s Sefton Park on Saturday, 22nd June. We were so disappointed by our food. The chicken was raw and when we tried to ask for a refund we were very rudely told that refunds were not issued as it was “not part of the business model”. We were then told we could have only half of the refund and were told that our meal was “only” £13, so why should we have a refund. Regardless of the price of food, our money is very valuable to us as we both work a very hard, and we expect the food we buy to be edible and not raw. When we showed the meat to the staff, they said that there was nothing wrong with the meat and that “everyone likes their chicken cooked differently, like beef”. My food came over 3.5 hours after my order and all my guests had left. I had loads of cold food to eat less than two hours before midnight. The tipping point for me was that owners seemed to believe it was their right to do so although their website clearly said otherwise. The food was just ok but clearly not worth the hassle or inconvenience
