Dining for the 2nd time here. Cannot recall if i reviewed the previous time. Better experience this time, in terms of food. Staff are smiley and nice, both vists. Heena and the other girl were really helpful today, and pleasant. I think pleasantries make all the difference.
The food, erm, its just average like every other place, but i think its the whole experience, rather than the food itself.
Ordered indian thaal and Sliders. Nice concept with the mini sliders, they were ok 7/10. The indian/desi thaali was 6/10 and that is for portion size.. erm, so, for the price, honestly speaking, one would expect a bit more effort in terms of freshly made food. The indian thaali came with : -omlette which had a good flavour, baked beans- a bit meh, -Bombay potatoes, again idk, i was expecting something a little different other than baby potatoes covered in mustard seeds, -and some mango pulp. I mean the mango pulp adds a variation to the usual desi breakfast, but otherwise, doesn't add anything else. The portion size was really good value compared to other places, but the contents of the thaali... hmm. I suppose its ok for a vegetarian.
Oh yeh, and desi tea, which was 10/10, served in cute little glass cups.
Would i return - đ¤ the service is good, and its a pretty place, the food was a disappointment the first time (i am sure i have reviewed..if not, i ordered the chicken stir-fried rice, it was 2/10, worst thing i have had after Sibu in Batley đ¤˘. my friends ordered the sliders and liked them) and 2nd trying something different, improved...
Read moreI recently visited this place, the decor was elegant, unfortunately, that was the only highlight of our experience. I ordered the queen cake with custard, which was supposed to be a vanilla and raspberry compote cake. However, what I received was just a plain sponge cake smothered in whipped cream with a single raspberry on topânothing like the description. I also ordered a Karak Chai, which turned out to be just plain tea. (imagine English tea with no sugar).Despite being offered a remake with stronger karak flavors, the second attempt was still just plain tea, with no trace of the usual cardamom or cinnamon flavors that are typical in Karak Chai. My husband ordered a caramel milkshake, but it was essentially just plain vanilla milkshake with caramel syrupâextremely sweet and not what we expected. The portion was small for ÂŁ5 as well. They kindly exchanged it for a strawberry milkshake, but it simply tasted like strawberry milk. We really wanted to enjoy our visit, but after two failed attempts with the tea and the lackluster food, we ended up going elsewhere. The only redeeming factors were the lovely decor and friendly customer service. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback on board and makes improvements to match the standards one...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible service. If there was a more disgusting way to put it I would. The staff don't have half a brain cell between them.
Walked in to the staff acting extremely cold. Food came and my son started to be sick. Two of the colleagues proceed to talk amongst themselves whilst I was kindly asking for help. One came over and put a tissue on his sick and left. Continued talking. My son continued to be sick with the smell. The two colleagues were chatting away watching me As I struggled with my son, just nodding every time I asked for help. As I was holding him I asked two three times for help and she didn't move and inch. He continued being sick and she just about moved like a snail to help. By that point the sick was everywhere and not once did they offer proper help.
Overall an absolutely horrible visit! I just paid and left, they didn't acknowledge that I didn't eat or that I was clearly harassed. Would never step foot here again.
Edit: how the owner has apologised yet totally lied that his staff did anything to promptly help us beyond me. "Sorry for this but they did do what you're saying they didn't?!" Just doesn't make sense. ÂŁ50...
