A small group of friends and I decided to give the new brunch menu a try at Heavenly desserts since we figured their desserts weren’t bad, so the brunch would be alright too. We were very wrong. I cannot explain the disappointment we were presented after our food arrived. The sorry excuse for a full English breakfast was advertised to have ‘spiced beans’ which we assumed were baked beans with a bit of seasoning- that was not in fact what it was. The beans were something more akin to a curry and had the strong tang of tomato and lemon which was not enjoyable alongside a full English. The hash browns, rashers and croffle (not toast) was fine but the egg was probably the most shocking part. Four of us had ordered the full English and three of us asked if we could have a fried egg instead of poached- the answer was no, since they claimed they couldn’t alter anything on the menu. Fair enough. We each got a singular poached egg In our breakfasts and they were all heinously overcooked. The point is to have a runny yolk otherwise it feels more like a boiled egg and isn’t very pleasant texture wise. We kindly requested our eggs remade properly with a cooked egg white and runny yolk. Apparently that was too much to ask because the egg given afterwards was practically raw, hence inedible. One of us also ordered a shakshuka which came bitter and devoid of flavour therefore very little of it was eaten. The pistachio and saffron iced lattes were also bitter and lacked any pistachio or saffron flavour, for over £5 per drink this was extortionate and ridiculous for the lack of quality. They may as well have used food colouring. There was also a gross overuse of coriander in every single dish we ordered, even an egg and croffle was overwhelmingly doused in coriander. Very few items came okay, like the caramel iced latte and Oreo milkshake. Both dessert-like orders which seems to be the only thing they can make correctly. We ordered a French toast also in hopes of getting something pleasant. The portion was miniscule and lacked the sweetness a dessert should have. The order being over £100 was the cherry on top to this horrendous brunch service. We had spoken to the waitress multiple times about our orders and when we complained at the end and requested a manager to discuss what we’d been given, we were told we couldn’t talk to a manager, and they were going to be there at 6pm (it was 2pm). The waitress also said she couldn’t discount anything and went on about it all being made to spec however the ‘spec’ is appalling. She suggested the place was not ethnic owned which is likely the reason the dishes lacked flavour. Frankly it was quite irritating to share your concerns to the waitress and feel like she has a pre-prepared answer and is only waiting to respond with no intention of helping the customer. All we got was the badly made egg taken of the bill (about £2 out of a £100+ bill) which was not good enough. Heavenly desserts use a pretty interior and logo to appear like a pleasant restaurant however the quality of customer service and food in general is of low quality and terribly overpriced. I do not recommend coming here unless you want to enter the restaurant hungry and also...
Read moreAlthough Heavenly Desserts was busy when we arrived in the evening, we didn’t have to wait too long before we were seated.
A big shout out to our lovely waitress Sarika who was so friendly and gracious and really took our experience from average to amazing.
We ordered from the vegan menu, but noticed lots of lovely looking cornflake tart behind the glass counter which weren’t on the vegan menu. I was curious so I asked our initial waitress what made them non-vegan? She replied, I guess on auto pilot (maybe she’d had a long day) about how our order would take 40 minutes because of the dietary requirements. There was obviously some confusion in my question and she asked another waitress to take over, that’s when we met Sarika.
Sarika asked if we had any special dietary requirements, we didn’t, I just wanted to know what made the cornflake tart not vegan, turns out it was the butter. Sarika explained that when people do have special requirements (eg. Gluten free) they need extra time to prepare for that and if we didn’t have any special requirements our order would be ready within 10-15 minutes.
Sarika explained clearly that there were a few items missing off the vegan menu so we were initially disappointed, she suggested the sticky toffee pudding which we ordered and I got the chocolate brownie with custard after remembering how small the crumble was (I’d ordered it in the past). I also ordered a fresh mint tea.
Our order arrived in good time just as Sarika said.
Let me tell you, that sticky toffee pudding was HEAVENLY!! OMG!! Every bite was a delight that kept on giving! We were wondering why it was the first time we had ordered it.
Sarika also kindly gave us a big portion of the brownie after quietly taking note about what I said about the crumble being small, which we appreciated and she also brought us extra custard.
The mint tea was a perfect accompaniment, I really love the glass that they are served in, although I do wish they came with a separate teapot of water because they don’t hold much and if you have a teabag, it quickly because too strong. I drank half and asked for it to be topped up with water by the initial waitress which she kindly did.
A big thankyou to Sarika, she was wonderful! We will definitely be back again, because of her.
I would have given 5 out of 5 for the atmosphere, but for me the lighting is a bit too bright and clinical, I prefer softer, warmer lighting in general for a...

After waiting 20 minutes for a table, we were genuinely excited to catch up with family over some of our favourite desserts at Heavenly Desserts on Wilmslow Road. Sadly, the experience turned out to be quite a letdown.
While the tablet-based menu was easy to use, things quickly went downhill. We had to ask three different waiters before finally receiving tap water—a basic request that took far too long to fulfil.
When our desserts finally arrived, we were shocked by how underwhelming they were. We always order the Croffle and have loved it on previous visits, but this time it was extremely disappointing. For £11.60, we received a miniature croffle with barely any strawberries, a tiny scoop of ice cream, and a drizzle of sauce that was almost invisible. Despite building our own dessert, the portion size was shockingly small. I’ve uploaded a photo to show what we received compared to a photo from a previous visit.
When we politely raised this with a member of staff, we were told the portion “just looks smaller because of the positioning”—which felt like a weak excuse, especially with the visual comparison on hand.
Prices have clearly gone up, but unfortunately, the quality and portion sizes have gone the opposite way.
We also ordered our usual saffron latte, which arrived in a cup that wasn’t even full. We paid £5.25 for this not full cup.
I did speak to another waiter when paying and got a silent response. Again showing the imagine for evidence of the quality we recieved on previous visits. Nothing was offered or resolved.
Overall, it was a deeply disappointing visit. The value simply isn’t there anymore, and sadly, we won’t be returning.
Uploaded pictures from previous visits croffle with raspberries and now- croffle with strawberries. Saffron latte was from now also.
UPDATE: Response to owner After emailing heavenly desserts as mentioned in the response to this review- I have not had a reply from them. Few emails now have been sent and ignored....
