The Black Cat Cakery — Restaurant in Manchester

My husband (!) and I ordered a cake from The Black Cat Bakery in September for our October wedding as a vegan alternative to our very not-vegan Asian wedding cake.

Erika was an absolute delight - she set out all the information we needed to know in advance regarding customisable options she was able to offer, and details on picking up. She called the morning of the wedding to make sure we'd been able to pick up everything smoothly, and we were very pleased.

Our friends with alternative dietaries were delighted to be catered for, and told us how much they enjoyed it / how tasty it was. The staff at our wedding venue were able to save some for us, and we've popped it in our freezer to eat around our original anniversary in March....

Simply fantastic cake! I don't often order a custom made cake, but it was a big occasion and The Black Cat Cakery certainly delivered. Their lemon and blueberry cake was outstanding, great flavour, beautiful presentation and a more than reasonable price.

I'm not vegan, but it's always a good idea to cater for everyone and great cake is great cake, regardless of ingredients. In fact, I found that the vegan cake stayed moist and delicious for longer than traditional cakes.

This is the third time we’ve ordered from Black Cat Cakery as the cakes are gorgeous... birthdays, baby showers, the cakes are so good that vegans and non vegans can both enjoy them. We ordered a lemon cake this time with lemon icing as it’s my husbands favourite and it was his birthday, it was really tasty. We’ve also had the raspberry vanilla, chocolate and rose pistachio. Personally my favourite is the raspberry vanilla, it has fresh raspberries in and I could just eat slice after slice.
