When we arrived we had to wait as this place was really busy which wasn't a problem. We were served by a nice gent and were then sat for food in around 10 minutes. This was very efficient and the shortest i've had to wait anywhere. We were off to a good start and then the waitresses came. We're not from Manchester so we soon realised that the people of Manchester aren't the friendliest, I'm Northern and definitely do not want to align myself with this disaster of a city. Anyway, the food was served by our disinterested waitresses and we tucked in. The tacos were okay, we were excited as birria tacos are quite rare, but we've had much better not far from Manchester (Jimmy Mack's). It was just sort of tasteless and had zero heart in it, much like the city itself. The drinks were the saving grace and were delicious. My partner tried to ask the waitress who had made our drinks to give them compliments but as my partner turned her head to simply look at the bar the waitress had taken our money and left in two seconds. This is genuinely the worst attitude from a waitress I have ever seen. I had put my card on the machine and she just left, no thank you, or have a good night, nothing. My partner said two words and before she could finish her sentence the waitress had left. We were both quite stunned at how awful the waitresses attitude were. She was like Batman, i'm quite impressed with how fast she vanished. We were served by two others, one was okay and the other again was awful and rude. I think it's just a Manchester thing after a weekend of being around the people who live in this cesspit. This is an overpriced meal served with a side of disregard. It goes without saying, we will not be returning and I'm glad to get home and be away from this city, I know why it has the word MANC in it because that's what it is and so are it's businesses. The whole city is miserable and it's not worth potentially getting mugged to be bullied by a waitress whilst you eat mediocre...
Read moreI chose to dine here after reading a review of the Irish breakfast elsewhere on the internet the night previously. Upon arrival, there were plenty of customers for a Monday lunchtime and I enjoyed the relaxed ambience of the cafe.
The serving staff are attentive but not overbearing and friendly. My server Halle was fabulous and a pleasure to chat with and gives great genuine customer service. Now, the important bit.....the breakfast! I intended having the Irish but instead went for the "Big Yin". Whether named after Billy connelly i don't know. However, a tremendous Scottish breakfast and just as good as anything I've had north of the border. It is obvious that TKP use quality ingredients such as the sausage which were perfectly cooked with a tasty mild spiciness. The other breakfast items complimented each other in tastiness. My only reservation, was that baked beans aren't an integral part of the Irish or Scottish breakfast. This maybe culturally correct but sadly for me only available on the English breakfast.
The coffee was also good and for the price totally worth it in a pleasant setting.
You can't go wrong here, superb breakfast and great value for money in these difficult times. Certainly won't be my last visit. Keep up the good work KP and I'll be deffo be back for another tasty gutbuster! Next time I'll give the Irish a...
Read moreAvoid at all costs. We went yesterday (satuday afternoon) after all the Instagram recommendations for the birrias brothers . They are definitely under staffed but the few they had provided a terrible service except for one. One of the girls looked bothered to work there. She dropped the food without a single word. When the table next to us got the wrong order, she did the same. Lack of manners and not even start with customer service. They left us with the dirty glasses and entree plates during our whole meal. There was very small space in the table and due to it being busy we were practically sharing tables. Looks like they add more tables to fit more people but in reality was just uncomfortable. Food and service was slow but they warned us about it. We ordered the quesabirria and it was so oily. Meat tasted wrong but thought wad just the flavours they used. We were wrong as it caused us food poison. They also get upset when you ask for more napkinsafter they give you one piece of paper per person for a very oily meal. This place deserves less than one star;however, due to the one waiter that smiled us and tried to help everyone and rectify others mistakes will give two. Would definitely never go back or recommend it. For the price you pay you are much better going to la casita if you want real mexican food. It...
