In my opinion this place food serving concept is conceived to bamboozle customers. Statement that I confirmed when I tried to give a place like this, a second chance.
They make you believe you're getting your money's worth and it's actually the opposite. So, you're given this green/red token, the waiters are supposed to be constantly circulating around your table, carrying different cuts of meat right?
Well, I could tell they were systematically coming to us, bringing only really cheap cuts of meat like sausages, beef belly, chicken, pork, which I won't say they were bad, they were ok and quite flavourful, the problem is that at some point someone either at a management level or the waiters themselves decided we had had enough, so they wouldn't come and if they walked by us they wouldn't stop or make any sign that they were willing to do so. No expensive cuts of meat were ever served on our table, so eventually after the initial 20mins they rely on the fact that the longer they take to come back, the fuller you'll start feeling, so eventually you'll just stop eating.
The second issue comes from the fact that at least in this location, they haven't brought back the salad bar, so they encourage you to order at least 4 sides per person, which they bring in these small cups and they're very difficult to put down on a table where 8 people are eating at the same time (4cups x 8people), plus the waiters come with the huge skewers in a rush pushing everything aside. All this makes the whole experience quite stressing and not the laidback nice dining experience that you'd expect from a place like this. Also, suspiciously the seats are very uncomfortable, wonder if that's just another strategy for the customers not lingering for too long.
In conclusion, this place seems to be designed to take advantage of every little passive-aggressive trick to make their profits bigger out of an unsuspecting client distracted by the cheap novelty of the skewer dance around them blinded by a hungry belly.
You leave feeling robbed, full of cheap food you could have paid way less for,...

Read moreFirst time here after hearing recommendation about the Liverpool restaurant. However left very disappointed and with reassurance from friends that this one was nowhere near as good as Liverpools. The food was lovely, and the meat came out hot and fairly fast at first. However after new customers filled the restaurant they just completely skipped our table for around 45 minutes+. After asking the staff if there was a reason for this they seemed to begrudgingly start to include our table again (we had our green disc clearly displayed at the end of the table the whole time). The sides where hot and really good sizes However, in the hour and a half+ of being there we where only asked twice if we needed any more sides or drinks and in that time our glasses where empty and put to the end of the table to make it visible that we needed more...Not alot of staff around which made it near impossible to flag one down to ask for more drinks. Most of the staff where rude, blunt and not welcoming. After finding a dead fly in my drink and brining it to the waitresses attention there was no apology just a quick, unbothered grab off the table to replace it (I was still charged for the drink). There was little to no atmosphere with the same songs on repeat. The unfriendly staff seemed to become very friendly towards the end of the meal after the bill was given to us (ironically) we removed the service charge of £25 which is so unlike us, but we was just so disappointed in the poor service.
Won't be returning to the northern quarter restaurant, but hoping to try the Liverpool one in the future for what will hopefully be a much...
