Ye Golden Lion (Blackley) — Restaurant in Manchester

Contacted the pub to check if was open for a drink and stated that it was already booked up even though on the website it stated in capital letter multiple times WE DO NOT PREBOOK TO KEEP AS CASUAL AS POSSIBLE!! The member of staff who answered the phone was rude and abrupt and very unhelpful! I appreciate they were obviously busy but a NHS worker who you are allegedly great supporters of I felt I was treated unfairly and actually belittled by the team member who cleary was too busy to be either helpful or a nice person! Unhelpful/Unkind and very contractdictory to what you plaster all outside the pub with with rainbows and bunting. Some training in customer service may be required as this was rather quite an unpleasant experience!...

Had my baby shower here in July and it was fantastic! The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, they provided us with a buffet which was lovely and good value! The venue itself was great although there wasn't a function room for us to use, per se - they let us use the front half of the pub which led straight out into the beer garden/bowling green area for the party and used the other front area of the pub for the buffet, the amount of space was very ideal - the perfect size for a baby shower! I'd definitely recommend this venue, I'd probably use it...

Visited the Golden Lion two times as I wanted to watch Formula 1 GP live. The were very nice and put it on for me on the big screen in HD. Very polite service, good atmosphere. Keep up...
