Gurkha Express — Restaurant in Melton

We dined in the restaurant on Monday evening with our baby and we all loved it. We were greeted and provided with a highchair and were the only customers because we had booked as early as possible. Everywhere was clean, tidy, and the waitress was lovely. The poppadoms were warm and crunchy, and the mint dip was fantastic. The mango chutney was the best I've ever tried. Whilst waiting for our main course, we were gifted with a complimentary starter. We don't usually go for starters, but from now on, we definitely will be, as it was delicious. When our mains came out, we were so excited to try the food, and honestly, it was the best tikka masala we've had in Melton. The garlic chilli chicken was also lovely, and spicy, and my raita dip came in handy to cool it down. The garlic naan was lovely as well. I don't usually eat everything on my plate, but I nearly enough polished off the whole thing. Safe to say, we will be returning! Finally we were given the bill with some yummy mint chocolates cold out the fridge. The best mint chocolate I've ever had, so overall, we were amazed with everything and really happy about the service. We can't wait...

£16.95 for a king prawn biryani which was also meant to have chicken lamb and green peas in it according to the site description, but instead it had 4 pieces of prawn undercooked unseasoned and extremely chewy. Came with raita which tasted like sweet yoghurt dessert. This is not what raita is meant to be, it was soo sweet. With delivery n service charge included took me back £19. Thanks for ruining my evening. Melton usually is terrible for take away as especially finding authentic south asian food so I used this place previously and it was okay, this time it’s the worst order I have ever placed if not the worst biryani I have ever had. Portion sizes of meat included are a joke, at least please fix your sites description on just eat. Thankyou melton yet again you have shown that it’s not just that you have the smallest amount of options available for takeaways or cuisines, but also the most over priced and underwhelming region ever. Fantastic Food and Fantastic service every time! Whether you are eating in or taking. away the standard of food is top quality and the service is still fantastic! We ordered a curry with egg fried rice (no Onion) but when the order came the rice had Onion. I called to explain (not complain) and the guy was so apologetic. He told me to disregard all food or keep what I want but he would make us a completey fresh order up and have it with us within 20 minutes. All fresh food was delivered to us within 20 minutes. Then about an hour later I received a courtesy call from Uzzal (the owner) asking to see if everything was ok, and he said that next time we come into his restaurant he will look after us. We have since visited his restaurant and he stuck to his word, a drink for me and my partner on the house and a delicious meat dish free of charge.
