Usual Wetherspoons and a good view ouybidbthw window to watch any tour bus arrive. Opposite the Melton theatre car park so you can nip in for a beer and food before the show. Tables needed a wipe tho but it was busy. Good disabled access and access toilet is below the staircase and it is locked so pleased about that as its cleaner that way. You'll need your radar key or ask at the bar. Some Wetherspoons disabled toilets are open and used by able bodied people not wanting to go up the stairs but these were locked so not blocked for disabled use. Usual toilets are upstairs. Friendly staff and would go again. Meals cooked very well and woth a drink thrown in.

Called in here today for lunch. Staying at Eye Kettleby Lakes. Easy to park as Car Park opposite - £2.30p for 2 hours, cheaper than Lincoln. Busy but got served quickly. Two scampi combo, one large bowl of chips, large Chardonnay and pint of Doombar, just over £20. Wetherspoons always reasonably priced. The usual 5⭐️ hygiene rating - never had a dirty glass at any of the Wetherspoons we have visited and, on our travels, there have been many😊. Furnishings rather tired.

We visited The Kettleby Cross in April 2023. It’s a fairly large pub, with an open interior and a large raised seating area to one side, decorated with bookshelves and fireplaces for a traditional and welcoming feel. To the front is an outside seating area, however it sits beside one of Melton Mowbray’s main roads, making it a rather loud and somewhat unpleasant beer garden. Check out our website or visit our socials (@wethowanderers) to read our full review of the pub!

After a long drive to eagerly awaited home of the pork pie, was dashed to find a 1970s lifeless town , as for the tourist information sending you to the pork pie shoppe just to be totally let down by the glorified bakery??? I enquired next door (nice butchers) as to where I could ascertain a pint of ale and a pork pie. The jolly butcher took great delight in telling me that Wetherspoons sell his pork pie. Not the quaint independent worldy inn I was hoping for, nor on arrival was it! Yet another 70s building with modern facia. Inside was what youd expect from any wetherspoons across the land. I chose the Melton Mowbray ploughmans with Stowford Press cider to drink. The meal arrived and overall was in good ordernice sized portions if Stilton and red Leicester if a little rubbery, my long awaited pork pie came nicely presented. Infact the only let down was the limp wilted sald. On the whole a good value good portioned lunch. As for Melton Mowbray hmm a total let down! Take heed local council! You have tje notoriety of a famouse pork pie, where as people will travel from afar to tastst- more could be done to promote this fine quintessential...

When your car goes in for a service and MOT, and it fails, and work needs to be done - nothing helps pass the time after wasting time pacing around town in the morning waiting for an update than a cheeky afternoon trip to a local 'spoons. Grab some decent real ales (£2.10 real ale festival on!), cheap food and people watch the people of Melton... The section I was in was suddenly filled with end of term students from the nearby college who soon drowned out the local couples and oldie groups with their effing and jeffing, so it turned into potty mouth student watching, which isn't nearly as fun. Great beer though, quick service, 'as your expect' food at a 'spoons - so recommended to waste a few hours. Have to try the evening experience next, or the breakfast pint-a-thon if I'm in town early enough... See how it compares to the morning queues in the...

Phoned in advance to reserve a table for 8, but when we got there nothing was reserved, we were lucky to get 2 tables close to each other and pull them together. Unfortunately we were near the kitchen so every time a food order came out two of our group were constantly bumped into. No apologies. Went to order food for the 8 of us at 9.02pm and was told we wouldn't be served because one of our party, my 18 year old son, didn't have ID ... even though he was drinking coke and about to eat. We were told the policy is no one under 18 or without ID is allowed in there after 9... even if it's for food.

They did us a huge favour! We left and went to the Montero Lounge on Sharrade Street. Spent a lot of money on delicious food and drink, will go there...
