I visited the Stratford road outlet in shirely. Upon my arrival I noted there were 2 members of staff behind the counter (one Male and the other female) I placed my order and stood by the counter waiting for it to be cooked. I noted the female (who I later learned was the supervisor) was leaning on the FOOD COUNTER texting on her phone (food unwrapped was on that counter) at one point she coughed in her hands, then as the Male staff member finished cooking the chicken he proceeded to bring the chicken over to the counter the female was leaning on, he placed the chicken onto a tortilla wrap onto the counter, she then began to add salad etc to the wrap and rolled it he prepared a portion of chips and put those along with the tortilla wrap in a bag. I was disgusted at what I'd witnessed and i informed the man of what I'd seen and requested he prepare another meal as i would not be eating the one prepared by the female member of staff and I was informed by him she was his supervisor! And that she needed to have the phone near her in order to take orders which was an absolute lie as the phone used for orders is in plain site upon the counter next to the till.. I informed him that she needed to undertake further training in food hygiene etc because expecting customers to eat food that's been coughed in, along with the level of bacterial gathered on her phone that would have been transferred to her hands is totally disgusting and unacceptable... I would never visit this outlet again as I think her conduct is probably an every day occurrence... revolting. .....Update( 13/1/21) ... I have responded to your reply to my review, by emailing you at the address you've provided. I would also like to add that it was your site that I visited and this visit took place before the current lockdown we're now in. And I visited this site as it happens to be located on the same road my son works on who'm I was picking up from work that afternoon. I have no reason whatsoever to write a false review I have written this review based on my experience of the level of service I received on that visit which fell below any level of reasonable standards for me as a consumer....(She was wearing no face mask, apron or latex gloves which the male staff member was wearing!) Update....offered vouchers by the manager which was fine, except I shall not be accepting these as in order to use the vouchers, you have to download their App and can only use their app if you give permissions for them to access your media files, data, contacts list, photos & location...WHY does a takeaway food App need to have permission for anything other than your location? In the past, Pepe's Peri Peri had been a place I frequented and enjoyed. However, it seems that their recent decline in quality and service may be a result of being understaffed and a lack of overall commitment. It is disheartening to witness a decline in a restaurant that was once known for its flavorful peri peri chicken.
I write this review as constructive criticism in the hopes that the management and staff of Pepe's Peri Peri take it to heart. A £37 order should never be treated with such disregard, and customer satisfaction should always be a top priority. Unfortunately, it seems that this establishment has lost sight of the importance of delivering a quality product and providing exceptional customer service.
I strongly advise potential diners to steer clear of Pepe's Peri Peri in Shirley. There are plenty of other peri peri chicken shops that offer superior quality and service. It appears that this particular branch is currently being operated by individuals who lack the necessary dedication and professionalism to maintain the standards customers expect.
In conclusion, my experience at Pepe's Peri Peri in Shirley was nothing short of horrible. The subpar food, slow delivery, and apparent lack of concern for customer satisfaction have left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I sincerely hope that the management takes these criticisms seriously and works towards improving their overall operations to regain the trust and loyalty of their customers.

Read moreThis is my second visit to this branch after a disappointing visit when it first opened and unfortunately things haven’t improved.
The fries are tasteless and hard, chicken strips were dry and not tender and flavorful like they should be. I had ordered hot but they may aswell have been mild. Even my drink tasted of just carbonated water with a little bit of syrup Flavour . It is really evident that there are money saving strategies at play here which is really disappointing to see when you’ve been enjoying pepes for the last 5 years.
Customer service was non existent, I opened the bag to find no salt, pepper or lemon wipes. There is a little section in the corner that you can help yourself with, but what if you don’t notice it or are in a rush? Absolutely silly idea especially when every other pepes provides such items as standard. If that wasn’t bad enough I was asked to pay extra for sauce another thing no other pepes does, what is this branch doing seriously? I really don’t want to be savage in my review but this place is literally doing everything wrong.
There are some serious warning signs here and I’m shocked that this hasn’t been picked up by the franchise team this branch is really letting the Pepe’s brand down and it saddens me to see that people think this is a good pepes because they are really missing out on a true...
