Garlic chilli chicken and lamb Korma was ordered. We decided to eat early as was passing. We are not locals. I’ve read some of the reviews and can see their points made about the restaurant. For my experience. I was concerned by the mint sauce for the poppadoms being offered with a glowing orange consistency. That much food colouring worried me as did the pilau rice that we ordered coming out coloured yellow. Some of these colourings are very dated to old BIR. (British Indian restaurants) which tend to be Bengali run) I think the restaurant caters to its regulars it’s been going so long 30+ years. Very reasonably priced considering the equivalent in Brighton can be 13-17£. Food was ok. So I can’t complain. Really the korma tasted of butter and almonds as it should. We asked that it wasn’t too sweet. And they catered for that. The garlic chicken had a lot of garlic and chilli which was nice and not a compromise to see. The owner and staff were friendly enough and yes can see that such a small restaurant they could overwhelm if they were quiet. Some noted the food came out very quickly and all together. We got this. I think more the point is get them fed get ready for the next attitude. Unfortunately because this was a low key experience I didn’t take pictures right from the get go. But here are a few bad ones. Apologies.

Really disappointed with our food , this place is very hit and miss sometimes it's okay sometimes it's near inedible . Needed a tonne of salt added , even the poppadoms and onion salad were absolutely tasteless . The dishes were swimming in water with grease on top of it it had almost split. Lovely guys here but absolutely revolting food will not be returning always give benefit of doubt as local but waste of money .

Love this Indian takeaway! Best in the area. I love the tandoori king prawn tikka masala, sag paneer and mushroom rice. The staff are lovely too

Went tonight for my birthday. Food was delicious but absolutely disappointed with the attitude of the owner. We had only just started eating our poppadoms when the starter arrived. The waiter could see that we were nowhere near ready for our starter however it was tough luck attitude. The starter was very nice. We asked for a 10 miutes respite before the main meal. After 5 minutes the owner told us we had to have our main as holding up a larger order who were complaining about waiting! We enjoyed the food itself but certainly would not be rushing back. We have been to various other Indian Restaurants in Burgess Hill and Brighton and the dinosaur who runs this place could learn a lot about customer care and this is being polite. A very disappointing experience especially as we took my mum there for her first ever experience of a curry and she was not impressed. Not the best birthday meal and not get cheapest either. Waiters were very nice but regrettably they were controlled by the owner. Flavour in Burgess Hill is a much better experience. Don't waste your money here if you wish for a relaxing meal and evening as it...

Usually don't have a problem here, the foods usually good and not overpriced. How ever was so shocked with the service I received when I last visited, I will not be returning again and neither will my family (who in summer had a dead fly in their poppadoms). I went to meet a friend from Hassocks station, who missed the train so ended up waiting for 25 minutes for her to get here. We then walked down the restaurant to meet our friends, we ordered drinks (gin and tonics) and was greeted with 'you've been in the pub then as you walked past at 5.30'! Furthermore, my friend had her drink knocked over by the waiter by accident so he said he would get her a new one, which never came because when we asked we were basically told we didn't need any more too drink so he didn't give it to us!!!! There was 5 us from the ages of 22-25, one a pilot, 1 a social worker and 3 with a degree in education. We are not rowdy youths, we came in for my leaving dinner, having had 1 gin and tonic, apparently no more was allowed.... Will not be recommending from now on.

Think this nosey and presumptious behaviour is not great...
