Frog & Nightgown — Restaurant in Milton Keynes

I visited The Frog and Nightgown in Newport Pagnell on a Tuesday at 22:10 with three others. While I understand it wasn’t a busy time, the service we received was extremely poor.

Despite being well within the advertised opening hours, the staff showed no interest in serving us. We stood at the bar, clearly waiting to order, yet the bartender ignored us, focusing on cleaning spill mats without making eye contact or acknowledging us. No effort was made to inform us whether we could still be served. Instead, they simply walked up, turned off the music, and continued as if we weren’t even there.

We were ready and willing to spend good money, but the complete lack of basic customer service was shocking. I’ve visited before and had an okay experience, but this visit left a bad impression. Even if the bar was closing soon, a simple acknowledgment or explanation would have been the bare minimum. Instead, we were made to feel like an inconvenience.

Shocker of an evening. We had a lovely time, but we were peckish, they didn’t sell food anymore so we asked if we could grab some prawn toast from next door. They said yes if you’re discreet. Anyway this big bag red head comes out literally shaking with anger shouting at us for eating in her pub. We said it was just a prawn toast, we were peckish and we’d be quick. She was fuming she was shaking she was spitting. She told us she would personally confiscate the food. We had half a bottle of wine left.

Brilliant little pub and owned by the Swan hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and toilets are spotless me and my mate visited and came for a full English before Newport Pagnell football kick off lots of food choices on the menu and abit expensive but my 4th time eating here treated myself to the steak and ale pie with chips veg and gravy which was top quality and for afters it was sticky toffee pudding and ice cream I've also had the full English breakfast here twice and the chicken...
