Visiting this little shop was like being transported to South India. With Tamil music playing on TV, the smell of hot food and heating ON, one could sense that the experience was going to be lovely. And it certainly was! Arriving at slightly past lunch time, the place was still busy and we managed to get a table after a small wait of five minutes. I could already see the contented faces of the customers. I ordered a ghee roast, masala dosa and a Chicken kothu roti. All of them very cooked to order and served hot. It was a party for my taste buds. Filter coffee to finish off just hit the right spot. I will definitely be back for more.
Quality - 5/5 Quantity - 4/5 (could do with increasing portion size in some meals) Value for money - 4.5/5 Price- acceptable for the quality, but will hesitate slightly to be a regular for the smaller dishes like dosa and idli at these prices.
Bottom line- definitely a must go place for truly authentic South Indian/Srilankan food. Eyes closed you can trust the taste and the authenticity.
I was going to put 4stars but even with its flaws, this place deserves 5 stars just...
Read moreThis is one of the most unprofessional restaurants in MK .It was a Friday evening, so we do expect kitchen to be busy. But what was really upsetting is people who came after us were served food and we had to wait more than 30 min for 2 Dosas . Dosa is the quickest of the items they could prepare.Staff was polite and apologetic, but there is no excuse for such unprofessionalism. If they are forgetting about orders, maybe introduce table no. system or something. Food was decent, but quantity was less compared to the costs. E.g. kothu porotta priced at £8.99 without a salad, which we got it upon request. Lassi priced at almost £5, is smaller glass compared to many other restaurants. There were no tissue or cutlery on our table. Normal coffee was served in name of filter coffee, which has a distinct flavour. Finally they didn’t even give an itemised bill like every restaurant do. We didn’t bother to ask as we had enough...
Read moreI visited this take away counter based on Google review. It was quite hard to n find the place considering it's location inside a building. And ther is no prominent sign board for some reason. You cannot expect any kind of cleanliness around the area as ther is messianic Station near by, I was ok that. Its always better to order before you go ther, as they took 20mins to prepare the food. Parotta was very good, however chicken curry was over oiled and did not have any dominating South Indian flavours and spices, liver fry was good, vafa was good but I felt bit over priced. Kothu parotta was average, they could improve but more spices and salt for better taste. Pricing was average not cheap definitely considering takeout only and location of the shop. I would suggest to give a try, other thing if you have sensitive stomach be careful, as it caused bit uncomfortable stomach due to...
