Booked for brunch on a Sunday, my brother and sister in law got there before us and were asked for drinks, they said they wanted to wait for the rest of the party. My husband and I then turned up and waited 20 mins to be served again. The drinks were nice. The food was a mix of average and awful, there was some interesting mayo that overpowered the loaded toast and the Middle Eastern breakfast was probably the worst thing Iâve ever been charged for. It was so beige, the bread was too hard, the baba ganush was bland, the colour of the egg yolk was so unappetising. The chips were the only nice part but I could have cooked them at home and dashed some paprika on myself. We werenât asked how our food until after weâd finished, the waiter noticed I didnât eat much and asked why. When I said it was because it didnât taste of much he proceeded to tell me how many had been ordered that day as if people love it. Just because people order it, doesnât mean itâs liked as they have just liked the sound of it but this shouldnât be used as a review of how good it is. I was asked if I wanted something else which was too late as the rest of my family had finished 15mins ago and wanted to leave so I didnât want to make them wait and with their lack of love for their food also didnât fill me with confidence that an alternative dish would be nice. If I was asked like a normal restaurant 5 mins after the food had arrived I would have taken them up on the replacement but the poor service and time it was taking for them to pay attention to us was too much. Also during us eating a waitress was trying to take a photo of another group of customers, she was stood between me and my husband as we were talking and didnât bother to apologise or ask if it was okay she stood so close to us to take the photo.
Overall the drinks were the only nice part of it, the waiting staff donât really want to pay attention to you until itâs too late and the food was awful. I wouldnât go back, it was actually my husbandâs birthday and they did do something nice for that with a free dessert but the experience was already ruined for us by that point as weâd paid and were about to leave. I spent the whole day apologising to my husband about what an...
Read moreBeautiful. But extremely disappointed to have driven over to the coffee for something to eat to be told at the till at 5 to 3pm that the kitchen closes at 3pm..so me and the children couldn't order any food from the menu. Another couple also walking in and where told food needed to be placed with the kitchen before 3pm. I had a looked everywhere on the website and also Instagram and i can not find anywhere where it says the kitchen closes at 3pm. All i can find is opening hours until 4pm. I would have chosen other cafe to go today if the information online giving to me was correct and not so misleading. Please update your " kitchen working hours", your costumers deserves that.. unfortunately i won't be coming back to chance an opportunity " to catch the kitchen open".
Replying to your reply: So for example, one of your lovely potential costumer's has seen you on Instagram or seen your page online while researching for a caffee in Milton Keynes and decided NOT to check the menu for some reason, and like me drive to your caffee for something to eat at just before 3 pm, I mean the website and Instagram tells me the caffee is open until 4, so surely I have plenty time for a coffee and something delicious to eat,to find the kitchen closes at 3 while no where on Instagram or the webpage states the kitchen closes at 3pm, but instead promotes " closing hours :4pm" would you not find that to be misleading? And also annoying? As i said, if the information online was not misleading and i was made aware that kitchen closes at 3 ( i mean it doesn't closes at 3 as order has to be put in BEFORE 3,) i would have driving somewhere else for something to eat :) There's no need for this review to be taken so personally and for your responds to be so abruptly as you have. As your costumer this review should make you review your information on-line. Cause it happened twice yesterday while I was in the caffee so I am sure it...
Read moreWe went to Nour for brunch last weekend as it was recommended by my sister who lives in the area.
The food that we had ordered was great (French toast + egg royale) and we had no problems with the food or the waiter that we were served by.
Our problem was with the manager who was extremely rude and frankly misogynistic as we were 2 women. We had seen him interact with other groups as it was quite busy when we went and the way we were treated was completely different to others.
The matcha that I had ordered SEPARATED (unfortunately forgot to take a picture) so we complained and a waiter got me another one. The manager came over and asked us about the food and matcha. I had told him that the last one separated and since got a new one. He then says âI wasnât talking about the other one- did u like this oneâ then he proceeds to pick up the matcha and bring it close to my face as if heâs about to feed it to me. I moved away and he goes âexcuse me put your water down and try the matchaâ. Both myself and my friend felt very uncomfortable.
We also told him at this point that the matcha tastes quite milky - he says âare you guys matcha connoisseursâ and then shows us the matcha. We do like our matcha and were curious - It was the perfect Ted matcha so we were even more surprised as to why it tastes so milky. We had told the manager this in a constructive way and indicated that we were fine drinking it but for next time, it tastes quite milky and to possibly make adjustments. He proceeds to tell us that âwe are the only people that have ever complained about the matchaâ and âwhy didnât you ask for more matchaâ. At this point, we had enough and just wanted to leave.
Finally, the manager forced us to a write a review stating âI want you to sit and write the review nowâ - we got up and left as we had already paid but honestly I wanted to write this review after he way he treated us
Wouldnât...
