A Fantastic Experience at the Talbot Inn!
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Talbot Inn, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! The exceptional customer service provided by the staff at this pub truly made our visit memorable.
First and foremost, the food at the Talbot Inn is good. We were delighted to indulge in some delicious traditional pub food that exceeded our expectations. Every dish we ordered was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Moreover, what impressed us the most was the incredible efficiency in which our food arrived at our table. Despite having a group of 15 people, our meals were served promptly and piping hot!
The variety of drinks available at the Talbot Inn was also commendable. They offer a wide selection of beverages, catering to different tastes and preferences. Whether you're in the mood for a refreshing a pint of ale, or a non-alcoholic option, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings.
The seating options at the pub are plentiful, both indoors and outdoors. The vast indoor seating area provided a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal with family and friends. Additionally, the outdoor seating area was a great option, particularly during pleasant weather. We loved the option drinks in the open air.
The Talbot Inn boasts a wonderful family-friendly ambiance. We felt safe and comfortable throughout our visit, which was particularly important given the size of our group. The staff was accommodating and friendly, ensuring that everyone had an enjoyable experience.
One aspect worth mentioning is the large free car park available for guests. It's convenient to have a spacious parking area, and the simple process of entering the vehicle registration at the bar made it hassle-free for patrons.
Overall, our time at the Talbot Inn was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of great food, excellent service, diverse drink options, ample seating, and a welcoming atmosphere made it a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend visiting the Talbot Inn for a delightful dining experience, whether you're looking for a cozy night out or a gathering with a larger group. You won't be disappointed!

Read moreLocation: good location, good access, easy to find, decent and clean parking with an outside garden
Service: service in general nice, except a lady that took the order - had difficulty to find items on the screen, had to confirm with colleagues if what is on the menu is actually available. informed that vegan sweet potato tart is not available but I can have beetroot one (though I have received swede parcel with some unidentified vegetables).
Food: questionable quality and we won't be returning.
Ordered:
hot chocolate ( lukewarm milk served with a chocolate on a stirring stick on the side - very disappointing DIY hot chocolate with the chocolate bits separating from the milk. This is not for "real chocoholic" as the menu implies. Forget about rich in flavour hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows. Better go elsewhere.
Coca-Cola was ok but the ice cubes weren't nice. Maybe ice machine needs a clean
Camembert - not baked properly, still solid in the middle. Ciabatta bread crusty, not warm and not appetising. Chutney should be served on the side and not left as a "blob" on top of the cheese.
Trio of roasts - no idea how old the meat was but not enjoyable (see below for comment on veggies)
Sweet potato and apricot chutney tart - no idea what I got in the end, that wasn't too bad.
Vegetables for both meals: carrots so soft you could squash them easily with a fork, very watery. Green beans and peas - most likely made from frozen, did not look fresh. Lukewarm, warmed up in a microwave? Cabbage wasn't nice, parsnips were burned, potatoes seen better days.
Kids menu is pathetic with the standard pub options. Lack of consideration for vegetarians, only "cheese and tomato pizza" for 7 years and under, served with more carbs on the side.

Read moreI have lived in MK for many years and would often use the Talbot Inn for food and drink. Unfortunately last year the pub decided to implement parking enforcement which is camera controlled and automatically reads your number plate as you enter the pub carpark. It's free to park your car if your visiting the pub but if you forget to enter your number plate into the terminal at the bar you receive an £80 fine!! I had this happen to me. The pub will bang on about cancelling the fine if you contact them but who needs that hassle!!!! The pub is situated in a quiet estate within Milton Keynes and surrounding the pub is plenty of side roads with ZERO double yellow lines so why on earth do they need this system???? They say ppl park there and don't visit the pub taking up spaces REALLY??? Why would anyone want to park in a pub carpark when parking is plentiful in the surrounding area?? This isn't central London its Milton Keynes lol. Once your in the pub there is a certain lady who works behind the bar who has no idea of customer service she just barks at you. Totally put off of this pub. Miller and Carter is a 5 mins walk away and even the Harvester which is again only 5 mins away is a much better...
