Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good selection of beers and they ones they have are pretty tasty. I haven't eaten here yet but the food looks pretty good from what I've seen of other people eating and looking at the menu. On Tuesdays they have stone fired pizzas available so I'm hoping to try one of these very soon.
There is a reasonably large beer garden out the back which is lovely in the summer.
I generally go here earlier in the evening as a meeting place for a beer before my pals and I go on for a curry and the place at that time is pleasantly busy - no crush or too noisy and you can easily get a seat.
Clientele seem to be a good mix of mainly professional people and that and the staff give the place a very easy going, friendly vibe.

Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful - happily bringing us another jug of gravy when I asked for it. We then walked to the leather sofas near the fire, and chilled out and digested! Parked in the nearby shopping car park (free on Sundays) and it was a very...
Read moreA wonderful combination of everything great about an English pub. Good atmosphere in a very comfortable setting with great decor. The food is priced average for normal pub fair but far exceeds those price expectations. Service is very good with the management and staff happy, relaxed but swift and always accommodating and helpful. Dogs are welcome and there are free treats for them on the bar. Great beers and always a couple of good guest ales. Guinness drinkers beware - if you try the stout you will end up a convert (I have). Fantastic garden, nice furniture and heated beach hut booths for when it gets chilly. Only warning - this is an incredibly popular pub with the locals, so lots of people calling each other by name and chatting across the bar (but...
