As soon as I walked into this pub, it was amazing because I was greeted by very friendly dogs. While the menu was not that diverse, it did not need to be as the atmosphere of the pub was wonderful and friendly. The people, most of whom were playing dars and I assumed to be local, were extremely welcoming. It is also worth seeing the seating area at the back of the pub. The female member of staff was absolutely lovely. She was extremely hard-working and friendly. The chicken Caesar salad was really nice and I liked the fact that the Chef added celery and it is something that I would recommend. The pub is extremely dog friendly and I liked the fact that dogs were able to wander freely around the pub. The atmosphere is great, the people are friendly and the food is really nice. ***We recently attended the place again and were quite pleased. It was very crowded and we had to sit at the bar to have a meal. We did not mind this because it was no one's fault that the pub was crowded and it wasn't bad at all being seated at the bar. It was also great to see that many people had chosen to bring their dogs to a pub. The "Dogger Burgers" also looked really nice.***

Poor choice of ales. Burger was ok. Banger and mush should have two sausages, but they served only one saying it's a big one. Looks just like one normal size sausage. No peas. No Belgian mayo with fries. Chef apologised for absence of peas as they run out and refunded us with 5 quid. Toilet is dreadful. On the picture this is one BIG sausage, equivalent on two normal. Definitely not what I would call a big sausage. Got chips on one portion instead of mush.

The pub itself is gorgeous on the inside, love the bar being in the middle with tables around it so you don't have to go through the whole pub to reach it. I only wish we saw the spotted dog a bit more! UPDATE! We saw the dog more last time and he's adorable! (And massive) the food was so amazing as well we went for a Sunday roast this time and it did not disappoint!

So an odd one, was almost empty when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Lady behind the bar friendly, partner had a passionfruit cocktail which was from a tap, didn't look like the photo which was topped with a slice of passionfruit but she said tasted nice anyway. I had a beer, only one ale on tap, forget the name but it was very so so. We had a spicy veggie burger and a regular with bacon and then we waited and waited a ridiculous time, almost comical forever when it did arrive the chips nice and crunchy and the burgers looked nice, taste wise not bad but not badly priced either. Men's toilets are out the back in a separate room and aren't great but have seen worse. Good points friendly staff, food reasonably price, nice little old building and a cute, friendly spotted dog who did manage to fart a couple of times near us but ours are just as bad so didn't bother us and he was a good boy overall. Poor points being very slow on food and limited ale selection. I did however win £65 on the video slot machine whilst waiting for food so that was a nice little...

We stopped in on our way back from a walk, hoping to have a quick drink and check out the garden. I popped my head in first to check it wasn't too busy. First thing you notice is it stinks of weed. Ok fine, we'll sit outside. Walk outside to check there's a seat in the garden, all the while being stared at by the regulars at the bar. I mean STARED at, the real smirking, look you up and down kind. Really off putting, hostile first impression. I appreciate that the staff can't control the impression the customers give off, but they could compensate by being friendly, I don't know, maybe saying hello? Very strange place, slightly dilapidated, and staff that stare at you as if you've just walked, uninvited, into their living room. It's a shame, the pub has so much potential but it just felt awful. Needless to say we didn't waste our...
