To start, this restaurant is under new ownership and has a new menu - but seems to have retained reviews from it’s previous owners and incarnation. We were there on a Saturday evening. It was full. The location is unbeatable. Starters were good.
3 of 4 main courses were also good. My partner is a vegetarian - he had the only set menu veggie option of pan fried gnocchi. (There was a special of courgette on pea risotto). The gnocchi was black in colour (I had some in my Hake dish, which were also black, light and delicious) however my partners were not only tough but tasted burnt. We caught the eye of a blonde lady in a checked jacket with glasses who assured us there was not an issue with the dish (not having tasted it…. Which I thought made her a bit of a genius really) - she advised it was pan fried and supposed to be tough (? Why you would intentionaly make gnocchi tough, but there you are..) She also ignored us when we said it tasted burned instead offering to have the gnocchi steamed. No apology, no acknowledgement of fault or inconvenience. Our waiter did apologise however and although everybody else had finished by the time my partners steamed gnocchi arrived - it thankfully did not taste burnt this time. He did comment on it being pretty bland though…. Dessert - again 3 out of 4 were fine - one (sticky toffee pudding) was burnt, inedible and served to our guest. He was offered a replacement, which he declined - and a drink - which he declined. We left soon after, paying a full bill with the exception of the burnt pudding…. Regretfully both the food and the service were too inconsistent for us to be tempted to return at any time in the...

We had a nice time at this spectacular location over-looking some of the rocky beaches at the Mumbles head-lands by the lighthouse
This is a favourite place to visit for me and I wish that I had only good things to say
Apart from spectacle views, the restaurant is also a very nice quality building with a large variety of comfortable seating and indoor or outdoor seating available
Putting a sign up to let patrons know that they have to line up and pay before anything will be brought to you at your table would be helpful
I asked 3 people for coffee and no coffee was coming anytime soon, it took them over 5 minutes to ask for the money, that was annoying
What is so hard about giving customers information about paying? They did not want to be rude I expect, but they were because we were delayed in getting served, it was just silly
Coffee was fine, they had good cakes and icecreams 🍦 😋
I was not happy with the bathroom, it was not of a good enough standard to match with the facility
I do not want cheap toilet paper like that and it was not clean enough either
We managed to have an okay time but it would not take much more though g it for us to have had a far nicer time
Also a ramp is needed for disabled access, all I could see was three steps to climb to get in which was difficult to manage
Parking is ample but the turn in, off the road, can be tricky to pull in at, so go slow as the road curves around
Be careful with opening hours, people were turned away as we were leaving and it wasn't that late. That is commonly the case with places in the...
Read moreWe have been to this place many, many times before when it was under the old management. It was always a nice meal and pleasant time there. This time, we noticed it was under new owners but still exactly the same inside so we went in. We sat down and waited 10 minutes before staff turned up, we gave our order and 1 hour later we were still waiting for it to arrive. We noticed people who came in after us were being served what we had already ordered. My husband went to make enquiries, a member of staff came to speak to us and she went to find out where our order was. It was still a while coming and we were about to walk out when it turned up. The food was cold so once again we complained and the woman member of staff called a manager who showed up, "sorry about that I'll get warmer ones,"he responded and off he went before you could say anymore. The food still wasn't up to standard and we complained again only to be told the kitchen staff were to blame!!! So encouraging!!! We would have walked away but the staff. A nice young girl who was our waitress and an older woman in charge were so nice, so pleasant and friendly who more than made up for the male manager but not for the very poor quality of food. My softee husband didn't want the staff to be in trouble so we just decided never ever to visit there again, sad, years of enjoying the place and previous menu under the other owners and in one visit it was crushed by this visit under new owners. Awful experience but lovely waitress and lady in charge. Maybe the men could learn a thing or two but sack the...
