We were very disappointed with the food and the atmosphere. Steak was very well done when asked explicitly for medium rare. The side salad was less than a handful. That was the only side dish 🤦‍♂️ it was patheticly small. The sauces and butter with a steak is not working with many of the guests. Most of the meals have cream or sausage paste. It was my birthday meal - the worst experience for years. The plant based menu was not a well balanced meal - vegans need more volume of food to have a nutritious meal. 🤷‍♂️ Non-alcoholic drinks are a joke - I asked for a natural lemonade, they would not serve. I mean it is making the small effort of squeezing a lemon and add water 🙈 Other guests where very noisy, you have no sense of isolating noise from guests. We just wanted to leave when you have a person less than a meter away shouting and having fun of her life. Not the clientele I want to hang around. On top you have a diesel generator at the side of the restaurant and we were smelling all the fumes when he wind blew towards us 👃not great again. Door of one of the toilets does not close properly, fix it. Nothing to dry hands at the toilet. Fix it. What a disaster of a birthday meal - we just wanted to leave. Never again. How can you get it so wrong! 😑

Firstly, what a setting! This place is absolutely beautiful, a prime location. We had a lovely dinner with my parents-in-law here, on Sunday. I personally like that there isn't a lot to choose from on the menu, because I'm terrible at making food decisions (want it all). We had a mix of starters: belly pork, goats cheese balls (A MUST) and scallops. Everyone loved their starters, my favourite were the cheese balls! They had a lovely jam on the side. My husband and I went for a steak main, which was really nice and came with a hot stone - but I'd probably see if the chef could cook it next time, just to save my own mess! Other than that it was really good, with beef dripping sauce and garlic butter. The cheesy mash with goats cheese is also a must have. We also had dessert: brownie, cheesecake and banana bread. All delicious! I also had a couple of lemon cocktails, they were stunning. I really love this place, and will definitely come back for more lovely food! Plenty of parking outside and a really beautiful spot. The staff were attentive and made sure we enjoyed.

I was walking to mumbles pier and came across a new venue called "on the Rocks" and WOW what an absolutely stunning experience in every aspect. Firstly, the location of the restaurant is simply breathtaking. Situated in Mumbles, it offers beautiful views of the surrounding area, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere. Whether you're seated indoors or outdoors, you can enjoy the stunning scenery while indulging in your meal. The venue itself is beautifully designed, with a modern and elegant interior that exudes sophistication. The attention to detail in the decor and layout creates a welcoming and comfortable ambiance that adds to the overall dining experience. What truly sets "on the Rocks" apart is the amazing staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff members were attentive, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work. They went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt special . This is a little gem of a find and much needed down near mumbles pier!

My wife and I came here to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We don't often go out so this was a real treat. We didn't book but were fortunate to get a table in the conservatory area.

The scenery out the window was beautiful, even though the weather was typical Welsh (wet!)

The service was impeccable. Water was brought to the table without a request and then we ordered drinks. I went for the On The Rocks Painkiller cocktail. Which was Barti Spiced Rum, Coconut syrup, pineapple juice, orange juice and viewers. Emma went for a double strawberry and hibiscus gin with tonic water. They were both divine.

We knew what we wanted before arrival so we ordered food at the same time as the drinks. Emma ordered the Sticky Soy Salmon served with creamy mash and tender stem Broccoli and I went for the Pan-fried Chicken Supreme, Potato Dauphinoise, Braised Carrot and a Creamy Cider and Leek Sauce. They were both served hot. Emma said it was the best salmon she'd ever tasted! I don't usually go for a chicken dish, but this was so good I'd go for it again.

For dessert, I opted for the rhubarb and apple crumble with custard and Emma went for the triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. There was a delay with the desserts so we were offered a free drink. We both went for a soft drink (ginger beer and elderflower lemonade) because we didn't want to be trouble (although in hindsight we should have been a bit cheeky and had a cocktail! 😂). When they arrived though, the desserts were amazing and a perfect way to round off the evening. The brownie was melt in the mouth and the crumble was the perfect combination of crumble to fruit. The only negative was the crumble filling was a little too 'pureed'.

Thank you On The Rocks....

Birthday celebrations with family .. we were a party of 11 Initial booking went well, because we were over 10 ppl we were asked to fill out a pre order which we received with just 48 hours before our meal .. The booking required us to vacate our table after 2 hours but we waited for almost an hour for our starters (not that we minded but we were conscious we only had an hour left to enjoy our meal) Cockles and mussels were delicious .. Star starter was the whipped goats cheese .. squid was not so good On to our mains .. Steak was outstanding as expected (wd not recommend the chips tho) lamb was OK but salty mash potato .. cod was good , belly pork was good, chicken supreme was OK Venue .. prime setting absolutely beautiful sea views, decor was tasteful and light , we loved the venue Welcome - all the team were great .. good service and super accommodating .. customer service very good Food .. can improve to match the venue .. no excuse for salty mash or tasteless squid to be honest .. But the steak was very very good (stick to signature at this restaurant) Dessert menu was good choice .. the tiramisu martini finished the meal off nicely .. others had crumble which was enjoyed And finally the standard amount of wine for our family .. which was reasonably priced and we were happy with the selection

No photos sorry .. they are all of...
