The Pilot of Mumbles — Restaurant in Mumbles

Visited today 16/12/2024, later afternoon. A really good pub.

Dog friendly, as it's almost Christmas mince pies were put out on the bar for customers to help themselves which was a nice touch.

Lovely and warm in there, nice fireplace, good decor, dog friendly. More importantly great beer, a good selection of ales and ciders. I had black storm stout, really nice, tasted as it should.

The only thing that's missing from giving 5 stars is unfortunate with it being quite small and hard to get a seat (nothing they can do about it). Picky maybe but it seems to get quite full in there so it's not particularly a place I'd go to for a few pints with having to stand or prop up a seat at the bar (maybe just a quick 1 instead). Disappointed with Our Treatment at The Pilot. If I could leave no stars I would

We’ve been loyal customers of The Pilot for many years, but after our experience today, we’re extremely disappointed.

Our family group—six adults and two teenage children—was turned away because we were deemed a “group” of more than six. This was during a family day out, and it’s upsetting to think that as a family we were refused service.

We’ve always considered The Pilot to be a welcoming and family-friendly spot, but this rigid and unreasonable policy has completely changed our perception. Families should feel welcome, not penalised for wanting to spend time together.

Initially, it seemed like a lovely local pub!! We were there for the rugby match Ireland v England 2023 Gram Slam!!! Ireland won🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪☘️ and they turned the tv off! I continued to look at footage from my phone and the land lady came and told me to turn it the volume down😡😡😡 very annoyed as I thought Wales would have been be supported of Ireland.
