Rok has the title of being the number 1 of 357 restaurants in Swansea, quite a thing! I booked for a surprise birthday Sunday lunch for my partner, the online booking was simple, I got a confirming reply from Debbie, who was there to greet us as we walked in, a nice continuity touch. The location is pretty much world class, the restaurant was welcoming and friendly, clean, uncluttered. Obviously very beautiful and even with a full house, it had a really pleasant ambiance, not to loud, good music, lots of attentive staff floating around, with none of the faux 'care' you so often get. Our waiter was Davide (from Portugal), very professional and easy going, a very nice chap. We went for 2 courses, main and dessert, it all arrived easily and was at least as good as you would expect, really lovely. It was all very tasty, especially the vegetarian option, which so often is neglected and misunderstood, nice portion sizes, not huge and not Nouvelle Cuisine tiny, just about perfect. When Davide brought the desserts, he popped a golden candle into my partners panne cotta and very gently sang Happy Birthday, even managing to coax me into joining in, which never EVER happens! We finished off with coffees and went out into the afternoon sun. We're lucky enough to live just down the road but for any visitors coming here, don't just park your car and then drive off again afterwards, Bracelet Bay is a proper little Welsh bay with sandy bits, rock pools and views to die for, you could happily spend the rest of the day there. Rok was perfect for a special meal out, the staff were lovely and the food was wonderful, what more could anyone...

We finally made it to Rok Mumbles for their Sunday roast—and it was every bit as heavenly as we hoped.
We started with a milk bun & charcoal butter—soft, warm, and moreish. Then came the main event: 🥩 Well-done Longhorn beef – tender, richly flavoured and perfectly cooked. 🍗 Herb-brined chicken breast – juicy, succulent, and packed with flavour.
Both arrived with golden aged beef dripping roasties, glazed carrots, root veg, seasonal greens, Yorkies, stuffing, and lush, velvety gravy.
We added the caramelised cauliflower with Hafod cheese sauce & truffle crumb, and oh wow—it was pure decadence. Silky, savoury, slightly smoky… easily the star of the sides.
We also had a children’s roast (just as beautifully done), though the only slight miss was the pot of veg—not quite enough to share between three, including our little one. A tad more would’ve been perfect.
Dessert was next-level: 🍫 Chocolate delice with passion fruit textures and white salted chocolate ganache—bold, sharp, smooth. 🍮 Sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream—rich, gooey and utterly soul-soothing.
✨ Every course was crafted with care. Rok’s roast isn’t just a meal—it’s a full experience. Coastal setting, exceptional service, and plates that balance indulgence...

Rok Mumbles is a true gem overlooking the stunning Bracelet Bay. The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between posh and serene, avoiding any sense of pretension. The chic and cosy interior enhances, rather than distracts from, the breathtaking views. We visited on a Sunday and enjoyed an exquisite Sunday lunch with starters—the food was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. The wine menu offered a great selection that paired perfectly with our meal.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and provided excellent recommendations, making us feel at home. The restaurant and facilities, including the spotless toilets, showcased their attention to detail. Our 3-year-old son loved the experience and even devoured most of his lamb Sunday roast. Families are well-considered here, with colouring activities for kids and a playground outside for post-meal fun.
Accessibility is thoughtfully addressed, with easy wheelchair access (do note access needs when booking). There’s plenty of seating, both indoors and outdoors, designed to create intimate areas. Parking is convenient, with paid lots nearby, including accessible bays. The beach is just a short walk away, though it’s less accessible due to the steps down. Rok Mumbles is a must-visit for its exceptional food, service, and...
