Gower Seafood Hut & Deli — Restaurant in Great Britain

During our week's holiday in Swansea/The Gower we had a few simple ambitions. One of them was consuming fish and chips on the sea front. After searching Google for "Mumbles fish and chips" there didn't seem to be many options. However Gower Seafood Hut stood out as being something slightly different, in the right location, and with many good reviews. The research really paid off because we struck gold here! We both opted for the Plaice Goujons and Deep Fried Potatoes which were absolutely delicious. The fish was cooked to order so there was a very reasonable ten minute wait. The front of house staff then called us over and presented us with options of sauces and condiments which they applied for us in a covid safe manner. They even supplied a tray for transporting the feast to the adjacent sea-front benches. Both the fish and potatoes were cooked to perfection, golden and crunchy on the outside, soft and tasty inside, with no hint of excess fat. Good size portions too. Even the accompanying slice of buttered bread was obviously from a quality loaf. The tartare sauce appeared to be home made too. All-in-all the quality of food and service was second to none, especially at these very reasonable prices. We may have to return next year, just so we can gorge ourselves again....

Was buzzing to come here as soon as I found it on Google Maps, firstly there's loads of massive picnic benches to sit on, most of which have parasols so it's perfect if it's sunny or even if it's raining. There's a lovely view over the sea as well. I couldn't believe how cheap the food was priced so I was massively spoiled for choice. The lady that runs the place was unbelievably lovely, she was an absolute pleasure to talk to and couldn't do more for us. I had the mixed option which is Fritto Misto and oh my god. I'd never had whitebait or cockles before and I am a convert. Lovely big portion filled me right up with a side of lovely sauce and fresh lemon, it was all cooked perfectly, hot and melt in your mouth fish in perfectly crisp batter that wasn't even a little bit greasy, it was the perfect texture. I didn't want the plate to end, the chef was absolutely lovely as well when we saw him! Cannot recommend this place enough, if the weather is terrible get a coat on and go and sit under the umbrella or under the huge gazebo that's there and treat yourself. Will definitely be...

Gower Seafood Hut is a must visit while you stay or visit The Mumbles. It is a place you will fall in love with. The food is amazing, but it is the staff that make you want to come back. I was in for a wedding for just over a week and wish I had visited the hut earlier. However, once I did try their chilli prawns and chips, I was hooked. Everything was cooked to perfection and the touches of spice and herbs highlighted the seafood and chips.

I really appreciated how personable and friendly the staff were. While they were busy, they still took the time to chat with us and we’re genuinely interested in our visit.
