We booked a Friday night at the Bosuns Chair to attend the seafood festival, which is only about a 10-minute walk away – part of it a lovely stroll along the waterfront.||||I’ll admit, on first approach, I was a bit worried. Bosuns Chair doesn’t exactly jump out at you from the street, although it’s right across from the train station, which is definitely handy to know.||||However, the moment we turned into the gravelled car park at the back, I started to relax. Big trees, a small but tidy parking area, and to the left, an inviting outdoor beer garden with both shaded and open seating, plus a small area leading straight into the bar. Plenty of tables, TV screens, and everything well-maintained – it looked great and felt very pleasant.||||Check-in was smooth, and we were even allowed to check in about an hour early, which we really appreciated. We stayed in Room 8 on the top floor (around three flights of stairs – no lift, so pack light or consider it a bonus cardio session). But oh my word, what a beautiful room! Absolutely loved it. Every detail was thought through, right down to the lovely selection of products in the bathroom. We loved it so much we’ve already booked it again for 2026.||||Breakfast was fantastic. Great selection, and we both ordered the eggs royale, which were delicious.||||But the real highlight? The customer service. From the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out, we felt genuinely welcomed. The team here truly makes this place shine – they’re friendly, professional, and clearly care about their business and their guests.||||Bosuns Chair is truly a hidden gem in a beautiful little town. We highly recommend it – it’s simply outstanding, and we can’t wait to...

Had an excellent stay here with a group of friends. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We had a mixture of rooms from single to deluxe double. All rooms were well kitted out with comfy beds and a great selection of towels. The doubles were large and spacious with the addition of coffee machines and more toiletries. Food was excellent all round, we had a light snack for lunch when we arrived, it was well above your standard ‘pub grub’. The breakfast was superb with a great selection of freshly cooked ‘main’ options, particular call out to the eggs which were poached to perfection. |Great location being a short walk from the quay and high street.|Couple of recommendations – |1. The railway station is at the end of the street and traffic could be heard (though not excessive) from the rooms at the front|2. Due to the nature of the building the stairs are quite narrow, so anyone slightly less mobile might wish to request a...

Superbly modernised and welcoming pub/restaurant. 75m from the railway station and bus terminal. Bright, airy and interesting interior, with many pictures of old Lymington and its nautical past. Not cheap, but probably average for the area (excluding the local J D Wetherspoon). Small, uncomplicated menu. Friendly and welcoming owners and a lovely young barmaid...she's Romanian, but has lived in the UK for years...who is efficient and very interesting to talk to...if she has any spare time. Didn't use, but noticed a car park to the rear of the building. Possibly has a garden too? Certainly worth a visit should you be looking for somewhere different in Lymington. Spotlessly clean throughout. Highly recommended.

Stayed here for one night at the end of our holiday due to train cancellations, we booked the fog friendly room, it's was spotlessly clean, smelt great! Which considering it's a dog friendly room was great. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. The pub itself is a lovely pub with great outside area and good menu. The breakfast included was absolutely incredible! Well worth the extra night stay, even our doggy got a dish of treats and a bowl of water. Credit to the chef, 10/10 quality food and 10/10 for presentation. Great location, right next to station, few mins walk to the lovely quay, and about 5mins walk to highstreet. Would happily return and stay again.

This newly refurbished pub is definitely worth a visit. Excellent selection of beers and a good pub menu. What makes this Pub stand out are the five tastefully decorated rooms, ideal for a weekend away. It also has a spacious garden and car park. Whether you are looking for a few days away or a good meal, this pub is well worth a visit. Not to be missed. Update Sept 2020... This pub gets even better. Having previously not seen the garden it is tastefully arranged and interspersed with large planters filled with lavender and a beige bedouin style marquee. No wonder it has become so popular.
