Style over substance and unfortunately lukewarm food.
The one star is for the beautiful decor, and lovely laid tables. It all looked very plush. We had drinks and poppadoms and had ordered mains.
Poppadoms eaten, we waited and waited for the main and realised that the only other diners (who were there when we arrived) were only just being served their mains. Eventually food arrived and it looked and smelled delicious, as it should. We tucked straight in and then realised all dishes were lukewarm. We carried on eating and at the same time discussing whether we should mention the problem with their food. A further two tables of diners arrived and we chickened out. The food WAS tasty, but like everyone, we prefer our food piping hot - even the plates were cold. I hope the owners read this as we were so looking forward to eating in their beautifully stylish restaurant but we were let down.
NB the two staff were fine, one was a little surly (shy?) and he may need training in customer service/confidence building. We were not asked if our food was OK etc during the meal, but were asked when the bill was brought by the nicer waiter and and my partner said it was ‘fine’. Again we chickened out.
I so wish we’d mentioned the lukewarm food as maybe we would have had a much better dining experience.
Please Lal Quilla do check that food is HOT and train waiting staff to identify whether food is hot enough before serving to your customers who are paying with their hard...
Read moreSuch rudeness!! We ordered and paid on line for a large meal recently. We went to collect it on time. However, when we got there we were told our order hadn’t been received. I had to show them the proof as they also didn’t believe we had paid for it. Eventually they said they would redo the order, but were very busy and so we would have to return in an hour! I asked to speak to the manager who was unbelievably rude! I explained that it wasn’t our fault that our order had been lost! He was smiling and said that it wasn’t their fault either! and must have been a computer problem! I asked him if at the very least he could apologise! Eventually he apologised, whilst continuing to smile and doing paperwork at the same time!!! Such utter rudeness… I am a nurse and if I treated my patients like that, I would be quite rightly sacked! When we finally got our meal home… one of the dishes we had paid for wasn’t there! My brother telephoned the restaurant immediately…. He was told that we hadn’t ordered it!!!! This restaurant does not deserve to have any...
Read moreWe had a meal at Lal Qui Lla during the bank holiday weekend. It was the only restaurant open till late so we gave it a try. The place looks good, althout some walls looked like they are undergoing a refurbishment. The staff don't speak very good English which is a bit of a challeng, especially if you want some more info about menu option. Some of the service staff could not be bothered... we got warm coctails (when we asked for ice, we were told there was none), cutlery was missing when food arrived, and the waiter dropped all of it on the table for us to distribute further. Initial experience was not very positive, but when the food was delicious. 1 star for service, 5 starts for the food = 3 starts average. Try it out if you can get over...
