Monsoori Heights is an absolute gem, found nestling among the seaside village shops of Milford on Sea. With a captive audience restaurants in locations visited by tourists can be a little hit and miss, however, this one is superb.
Rarely have I encountered such engaging staff. They are polite, friendly and posses an in depth knowledge of the menu. When asked about a particular dish they reel off a list of spices and cooking methods as well as the general flavour profile. We stayed chatting with the front of house for nearly an hour after we had finished eating and left with lots of local knowledge and an understanding of the hospitality industry as well as a couple of recipes!
The draft beer is Cobra and was brought over by an incredibly polite barman who was clearly invested in his work. While washing glasses he put exceptional effort into ensuring each one was spotless and sparkling.
The menu consist of all the usual Anglo/Indian favourites alongside some authentic Indian curries for those that like to try something new. I was particularly pleased to note that, whilst there are plenty of hot meals on offer, there is no over-reliance on chilli and there are plethora of equally tasty, milder dishes. Rich sauces, tasty rice, delicious pickles and tender meat typified what we ate and the garlic naan bread was perfect. Portions size is good, with the paneer tikka we shared as a starter, as generous as it was delicious.
I would thoroughly recommend Monsoori Heights to anyone looking for good food and good service in...

We were staying in Milford on Sea for a brief holiday, and whilst we all love Indian, it was not particularly a cuisine we were planning to have whilst there, but it smelled so good as we walked by that we decided to go in, and it was one of the best parts of our holiday - and definitely the best place we ate. In fact, we all agreed it was the best Indian we ever had.
The food was delicious, and my dad ended up trying something he'd never had before, on recommendation from one of the staff, that has now become his favourite dish. The flavours of all the dishes were rich and authentic - somewhat different to some other Indians I've had before, but only in that there seemed to be a greater variety of spices and a slightly sweeter profile to some dishes, which made it truly something special.
The staff were also tremendously warm and welcoming, and it was clear how much passion had gone into the restaurant. We were predominately served by the son of the owner, and it was evident that he truly knew his food and was invested in ensuring his customers had a brilliant experience.
We would have eaten there every night of our holiday...
Read moreHad a few days away at a campsite nearby, ordered from here as it had the best rating. Delivery was quick and everything seemed good until we actually sat down and started to eat. It was the worst Indian I’ve ever had.
The poppadums were a actually okay’ish but there was a squashed mosquito inside one of them, I suppose something like this could always happen. However the chicken tikka biryiani was flavourless, the vegetable curry to pour inside was just a creamy flavourless substance, I wouldn’t have called it a curry at all, and it had weird caramalised onion mixed in… so it was like a sweet yoghurt… I’ve never not finished a curry in my life but I had to throw this in the bin. My other half had a lamb rogan josh which was flavourless, it was like a congealed bit of gunk… the lamb was tender but as it came essentially in a pool of cum it was pretty minging… unfortunately. As it was late and we were camping and it was late we went hungry… £37...
