Sadly I did not have a very good experience here. The lighting was very dim in some areas which wasn’t appealing. I asked for a vanilla oat milk iced latte as stated on the menu as an “iced latte” to much of my surprise I am then approached by a member of staff asking if I would like vegan icecream or normal icecream in my latte… I was very hesitant and confused as traditionally an iced latte is a latte over ice…. I was told that’s how they make it, I queried if I could have a iced latte like a normal iced latte as it states on the menu “iced latte” to which the response was we can do vegan icecream, as I am not vegan it is just a preference I said I don’t mind normal icecream but I would prefer a normal iced latte. This was rather difficult for the waitress to understand so I felt like I had no option but to have icecream, despite my preference being the latter. She described that it will be topped with a scoop of the icecream, so I thought that isn’t too bad I can drink the drink and leave the scoop. To my surprise a milkshake (frappe style) was served to me. I have not had straight cows milk in several years and the drink tasted rather strong like cows milk and was not how it was described or what I wanted. I regretfully asked if it was ok to have a regular iced latte, I was not implying I wanted to replace the one infront of me, but I stated it was not as described or very nice. They were happy to replace my drink but it was all rather strange having to in detail describe how I would like an “iced latte” aka milk and espresso poured over ice…. (The normal way iced latte is prepared) I was already disappointed with the strange response to me requesting a traditional drink. I would like to add it does not state anywhere on the menu that they make iced lattes with icecream. So if I was not a oat milk drinker I would have ordered an iced latte and much to my disgust, not received what I ordered.
Anyways, onto the food, I went for the avocado on toast with salmon. This started out rather lovely and half way through I discovered a long blonde hair wrapped around one of the tomatoes (on the vine). This made me feel rather sick I had to go outside and get some fresh air. I did not want to make a fuss so only discussed it with the waitress after we paid as I was more wishing to make them aware going forward to which I was told “well its too late now” followed by a rather rude comment that “well there are only two lads in there so it can’t have been them” I found the whole experience rather awkward and not enjoyable.
I will not...
Read moreWow - visited today for lunch with a friend and have to say was blown away by the food! I had a flatbread with mushroom, Haloumi and avocado - which doesn't sound like much but when it arrived the presentation was quite literally 100% and the flavours equally perfect. My friend had poached egg on rosti concoction which again goes nowhere close to explaining the beautiful look and tastes of what arrived. Friendly staff, lovely decor, clean, sensibly priced, can't think of a better place for lunch if you find yourself in the area. Actually, scrub that, visit the area so that you can have a reason to drop in for lunch (or breakfast) - I'm already looking for an excuse to return. My only disappointment was a lack of desert options to round off the meal but this is such a minor disappointment compared to the joy...
Read moreVisited for brunch recently. We like to support all the businesses in Milford but we won’t be returning to this one. The staff are very young and don’t appear to be be very well trained. We had to wait a really long time for our meals and when they did arrive they were very small portions.
One of our party had asked for their drink to be brought with their meal but this never appeared and the waitress at the end didn’t apologise and just said they’d take it off the bill.
The most frustrating thing is that they didn’t have a physical copy of the bill and just read from a tablet what was on it so we had to trust this was correct. Very poorly organised and the staff were not friendly. It’s only a small cafe but the dark decor makes it seem...
