The Cave — Restaurant in New Forest

Been here a few times and this really is a gem that is worth visiting. Situated in Milford on Sea (near Lymington) on the South Coast, this independant bar offers a place to unwind, indulge or shop. A place to buy high-end spirits, wines and beers. A place to sit, unwind and indulge in cocktails, gins, wines and lager/beer. An extremely tasty tapas menu, served Monday through Saturday, sees many friends and family relaxing and catching up. Live music on a Sunday evening. Bought a very nice bottle of wine £27 to sit and share on the green with family. Was given 4 plastic glasses to put wine into. Got outside and realised it was a Cork. Went back inside to ask if they could either open or I borrow a Cork screw. Shop assistant 'Star ' apparently is her name and known locally not to be her namesake, said she could open it for me for £20 corkage charge. What is the point of giving me plastic glasses if I can't get into the bottle?? Next time I'd rather buy a nice bottle from coop a few doors down. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Wines are excellent. However, there is an issue of recent months:…… the sweeping up around your feet starts around 10pm, yet they are happy to offer drinks orders. Several times we have been swiftly told to hurry up and depart in a very firm fashion, then we are given plastic picnic cups to drink our fine wines in ! ….. A real cheek considering the price of the drinks.. Lacks quality management and customer service from 10pm which is disappointing at the weekend.
