We had parked in the big car park right next door to the Needles Eye Cafe, it was £5.50 for four hours and easy to pay through the Ring Go app. It was a brisk (well it was a summer’s day in England…) and windy walk to Hurst Castle then a slightly slower trudge back but lifted by the thought of a warm cafe and a hot breakfast. We were greeted well and offered a selection of tables and chose the big high table with a marvellous view of the Solent Approaches and The Needles several miles across the water. The drinks and food arrived promptly, my wife had scrambled eggs on toast and the Big Breakfast was a simple choice for me. Nice thick bacon and the eggs and sausage of great quality. I chose the fried bread option - I don’t want to live forever - and it was wonderful. I can thoroughly recommend this eatery as a warm, welcoming place to come and spend an hour in conversation with great food and an ever changing backdrop. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

After a long, lovely (but cold) Winter's walk to Hurst Castle and back, the visit to Needles Eye Cafe was much anticipated. Sadly, it did not go well. Despite it not being due to close for about an hour, staff had clearly decided to start closing down. No hot food and everything being packed up; and no apology. As dogs were welcome (I've no issues with that) it was most disappointing to see chairs being stacked on tables, legs down. Won't be in a hurry to return. Great setting and views though!

Absolutely loved this place. The food was really good I only ordered chips as I wasn't too hungry but they were still really good and fresh hot. I also got my dog some ice cream which she absolutely loved (strawberry banana flavour) but she didn't eat it all as she is a little dog. The view from the cafe is absolutely gorgeous and amazing to eat at on a very hot sunny day. It was very busy so the food took a little bit to be made and huge queues were made apart from that a really nice place!!

Came here today and ordered food, I asked 2 members of staff if their chips where gluten free and safe If you have a gluten intolerance, they both said yes. I ordered chicken nuggets for my son and asked for them to be separate from the chips. I asked the member of staff if she was going to write any of this down she said it should be fine she didn't need too, 30 minutes later food came out and the chicken nuggets where in the same bag as chips and I went in and said to the staff that again I am gluten intolerant and that I asked for the chicken and chips to be separate, None of the staff took my allergies seriously! In the end they separated the chicken nuggets and gave me another bag of chips, but unfortunately since eating the chips I've had tummy pains and feel unwell.

Never known a place to not take allergies seriously before! I wouldn't go here if your gluten intolerant or celiacs

Not to mention there was a 30 - 40 minute wait for 2 portions of chips and chicken nuggets , no seating inside or outside and told to stand outside and wait for a table to come available too, the staff I dealt with where rude aswell,...

Poor, rude service. Greasy low quality breakfast. I watched the girl at the till serve the customers in front of me without a single smile, please or thank you. Her body language said all you need to know, she did not want to be there. "I'll get your ice cream when I've got rid of these people" is what I heard her say to a mum and her young son. Ten mins later and her son is still waiting. How the lady did not say anything I don't know, you could see her frustration. Best of all i watched the girl serving pull up her shirt and wipe her nose on it! The breakfast is greasy with the cheapest bacon and sausages, if this was reflected in the price it maybe acceptable but, there are far better high quality breakfasts within the local area. It doe's feel as though just because it sits in a favourable location that they can serve rubbish and charge premium. Toilets are about 10 years overdue for replacement, damp and in very poor condition, whole cafe needs windows replacing and re decorating. In summary, a great location, could be a fantastic little place equalling the view but, needs an overhaul of staff, menu...

Very disappointing experience here today, we booked a table a few weeks in advance as we had a large group. We then immediately called to move the booking back slightly but when we arrived were told we were half an hour late and they had given our table to someone else. Obviously the 2nd call to change the time didn’t result in the booking being changed and we would have been fine with that as these things happen sometimes but the staff member we were confronted with was very flippant about the whole thing and at one stage even laughed about it. It was clear that they weren’t interested and theres was no attempt to apologise. To make matters worse after we left the restaurant we tried to call someone to express our frustration and the person who answered just put the phone down! The 10 of us (including a hungry 4 year old) then ended up at the Lighthouse which is at the other end of the car park and with no prior booking sat all of us and we had a...
