Delicious! We visited this cafe having been before and I know of lots of local eateries in the area, but this one offers good value for money, tasty food and a faff-free walk-in service. Very impressed, the staff are friendly and welcoming and will seat you at a table in this small and cosy, old Tudor style building for the cafe. They serve a massive selection of food which is great, including breakfast, baguettes, main meals and also sides. They even have a wide variety of good value desserts to try! Toilets are available and clean and you can easily pay for your food when you leave. I enjoyed my visit with my partner and will certainly return as soon as possible! See below: homemade lasagne and prawn baguette with a pot of tea! I recommend the homemade lasagne special as the portion size was excellent and garnished with salad and chips! Wow!

Went in for lunch. The name is french but nothing else is. Bog standard cafe. Food was cheap. But okay. Had to argue that the latte I ordered turned up as a hot chocolate. Ordered sweet potato fries and had to chase them up with no apology. Asked for a kids meal for my teen with an eating disorder and was pestered for her age when I clearly pointed out we knew the limit but was asking for a concession. Wasn't offered sauce or anything. The plates had chips off them which can be a hygiene issue as well as dangerous on the corners. Had never been and no one advised where to pay. Could hear staff arguing as other mistakes were being made in the cafe.

I recently visited this Cafe and had the pleasure of trying their hog roast baguette and breakfast. The hog roast baguette was absolutely divine. Served warm with apple sauce and stuffing. And the breakfast was everything you'd hope for and more. It arrived beautiful arranged on a hot plate. The hot plate, the welcoming staff and the quality of each dish make it top choice for anyone. Highly recommended

Food was alright but the male staff was quite intimidating. When my husband and I entered the cafe we were told we can sit wherever we want with the female staff telling us to go up stairs. There was only one table left, 4 seater. We ordered and our drinks arrived not long after. Then a set of customers came in looking for a table but the female staff apologised as they can't be accommodated. So they all went down stairs. Few moments after this male staff came to speak to us suggesting we transfer to a nearby table for two which unfortunately was dirty at that time so they can accommodate the others who just came in. We had to pick up our cutleries and drinks and transfered tables, my husband even told the male staff "You can't let us sit on that table it's not even clean." That when the staff went to get something to wipe the table. It just went down hill after that. The same staff did the same thing to two other couples making them sit with strangers so they can accommodate a bigger crowd. Service can be improved and table seating plan can be executed better. Weren't just us who experienced the...

I was really disappointed.... I never do reviews normally but I felt I had to say something. I came here with my mum and there was a funny smell inside. Not sure the place is very clean. I ordered a jacket potato which came out hard and completely cold. They took so long to correct it then told me that they couldn't do another one as oven was broken so I ordered a prawn baguette... it must have been prepared on the same chopping board as my mums coronation chicken was prepared as the prawn baguette had pieces of coronation chicken stuck at the bottom of the baguette. They should be using clean chopping boards not preparing chicken and seafood on the same chopping boards. There was a very unhygienic atmosphere here, a bad smell and flies by the window where we were sat. I still had to pay for my meal nothing was substituted after my wait which I thought was wrong my mumhad eaten her meal before I got mine. The prawn baguette was not too nice and I had a poorly tummy the same night. I'll avoid this...

Having a Christmas break in our caravan in The New Forest and fancied a cooked breakfast on Christmas Eve. Went to Lymington and saw there was a Wetherspoons but thought we'd keep walking down the High Street. Came across Tres Bon - wow. We were so pleased we'd kept looking. Lovely welcome from the waitress and the chef. I chose large cooked breakfast and my wife chose scrambled eggs on toast. Both breakfasts arrived promptly on very hot plates - which was a nice change. My cooked breakfast was one of the best that I'd ever had. Bacon was cooked exactly as I'd asked - nice and crispy. Plenty of buttered toast. Only £8.95. My wife's scrambled eggs were also cooked exactly as she'd asked.

There were quite a few locals in the cafè which is an endorsement of the quality and value for money.

We're in the New Forest all week, so will be returning to Tres...
