We were so looking forward to eating here for the first time, the reviews are great so we were expecting great. There was 11 of us for a birthday celebration. A man came to take our orders, instead of going along the table to ask each person, he stood in the middle and shouted at us as a group, making us all shout our orders out in no particular order, making us feel rushed and pressured. One of our group eventually said something, which she did very calmly and politely, he continued to shout, ‘well I need to get your order in’. After a few moments one of the group asked to speak to a manager regarding the abrupt behaviour of this man, the man also being present, put his hand up to her face as if to shush her and then laughed, she stayed calm, despite this patronising and childish behaviour. The manager argued with her too. We were given the bill before we even got asked if we wanted a dessert, we had to ask for the birthday cake and a dessert menu. The milk had curdled in the coffee one of us had, she took it to the bar and asked for a replacement, Hettie (who was lovely and got the only star we could give for service!) apologised and took it away. A fresh one was brought to the table with a remark from the waiter ‘the milk wasn’t off’. Well it was, it was bloody floating in the cup! The food, bang average! Much nicer further up the road. What a shame and a huge disappointment! Lovely decor but shame about the plates, nearly all had huge...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Banarasi, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that set the tone for what was to come.
What truly stood out was the attention to detail in the flavors. Each dish was thoughtfully crafted with a perfect, I loved my chicken tikka masala. The naan bread was freshly baked, warm, and fluffy, making it the ideal accompaniment to soak up the delicious sauces.
The service was absolutely amazing and staff are very friendly, they were all lovely since we stepped foot through the door and Ruhel was very lovely too and helpful when it came to us ordering. We will definitely be back after todays visit, again the food was so lovely and such a nice place to eat the restaurant also is very beautiful and stunning.
Banarasi is a must-visit for anyone who loves Indian cuisine. Whether you’re a fan of bold, spicy flavors or prefer something milder, there’s something for everyone here. I’ll definitely be returning again in the future and know where to come and even better it is so close to home. Again the staff really made it even better, great customer service does really go a long way and makes everything so much more enjoyable and so we know we’ll definitely be back. Please keep up the amazing work everyone who works here cause our first time here we had a great time👏🏼
Thank you...
Read moreWe came here for our 1 year anniversary, hoping for a great experience based on all the positive reviews. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations.
First, the pricing was inconsistent the menu online listed chicken korma at £8.50, but it was £10.90 in the restaurant. We ordered 3 poppadoms, 2 chicken kormas, and 2 plain naan breads.
The chicken korma was quite bland, with unusual hints of cheese and cinnamon not what we expected. The naan bread was dry and lacked flavour, though the portion size was generous. On the positive side, the chicken portion in the korma was decent, and the poppadoms were standard for £1.30 each. The staff were really nice they checked in on us, gave us time to order, and were friendly throughout. The restaurant itself is also nicely set up and has a pleasant atmosphere.
In total, the meal cost around £38 (excluding drinks), which we didn’t feel was good value considering the quality of the food. It’s a shame, as we were really looking...
