Loved it here!! Had the afternoon tea, think it cost around £20. When they bought the stand I assumed it was for two people. Was shocked when they said it wasn't it was for one person. I've included a picture so you can see how big it was!! The sandwiches were delicious and there was a fabulous piece of quiche. Which to be honest, it would be worth going back just for that because it was divine. The cakes are freshly made that day and I think the buttercream had got cream in it, as it was absolutely scrumptious. Ended up taking some of it home as I was completely stuffed. The staff are really lovely and can't do enough for you and we were chatting to the owner afterwards, who said that his Dad had help to decorate the place. It was jam packed with antiques and was like stepping back in time. Absolutely fabulous place, can't recommend it enough.

Absolutely fantastic place. A traditional and pure British authentic tea café place. It's located in the corner and heart of the town in Newcastle Under Lyme town centre. I came from Birmingham this morning for a business trip. Arrived too early and decided to have a coffee. While walking around to see if Costa or Starbucks but suddenly saw this place. Opened the door and early in the morning was packed with people from all ages. Looked great inside and a lady worker politely welcomed me and showed table. I had an Americano which tasted great. The atmosphere was incredibly beautiful. Gives you the feelings of 50's to late 70's with decorations through out. Prices also very reasonable and affordable. Definitely recommend this place and every time I visit this city I would visit and enjoy café food etc here.

Not the cheapest place around for a breakfast, but nice all the same. The atmosphere is great though, seeing all the retro stuff everywhere - it's well cool. So if you are in Newcastle and fancy a bite to eat, with different surroundings, then it's worth trying out. Along with your normal breakfast, they serve a slimming world breakfast (which is basically an omelette), but this comes at a cost.. But if you have a loved one that likes to diet every now and again, then it's a good move and worth it to keep them happy, while you tuck into your fry up.

We came here for afternoon tea to celebrate my sister's birthday today and it was fabulous. The place is chock full of vintage memorabilia, which is set out really thoughtfully, and it has a great atmosphere.

We all enjoyed everything we ate, the sandwiches were obviously fresh, as were the cakes and there was plenty of everything even for the gluten free option.

The food, which is really great, was served by really fantastic staff. They were all friendly, engaging, and nothing was too much trouble. Truly lovely people to spend time around, they made the experience feel really special.

We will definitely be back for afternoon tea and their menu really does boast a lot of choice so I will be keen to go back and try some of their other offerings also. If you love an afternoon tea, then this really is faultless. It says "Come in, we're awesome!" on their door sign, and they most...

We have been to Bygones a number of times in the past and the service is always brilliant. However during todays visit we felt that the service was just impeccable. Myself and my mum visited today as a special treat to celebrate the first week of my maternity leave. It was so lovely to spend time in a place where the staff were so happy, kind and attentive. We were served by a lovely gentleman whose name we cannot remember (sorry!) it was his first day but you would have never guessed. He made the visit extra special for myself and my mum and went above and beyond. There was also another gentleman who I recognise from previous visits who came over and had a lovely conversation with us too. It was so lovely that the staff took the time to make their customers feel so welcome. The food of course was amazing as always and arrived really promptly. Thank you to the staff, you...
