I worte a review prior to our stay after Sarah was very rude to me about having my daughter in a annaxe room to enable me to smoke on the balcony. In fact it took them until the day of our arrival to deal with my enquiry about rooms when Sarah emailed me pretending to not to be Sarah had found my booking for one night, even though it was clearly two! When i called the other receptionist throw her under the bus! We live 200 miles away, some kind of customer service response would be appreciated. This was rectified by the manager Phil on the day of arrival. Now it wasn't our usual room, (52) in fact it wasn't suitable for a pig let alone a child which is why i wanted the room previously we stayed in on two separate occasions. Tried and tested. We stayed in room 41 on the ground floor of the annexe. I've attached photos of the interior. My daughter of 8 said "Dad it looks like someone had a wee on the carpet! Fifthly room!!!! Now breakfast the usual lovely lady only works Monday to Friday. The woman we had Saturday was outrageous and again Sunday. My daughter won't eat tomatoes and mushrooms, so i asked for a extra hash brown on Saturday. No problem. Sunday i said the same again but could i also have a extra hash brown. My daughters turned up with no hash browns at all. When i questioned it with a different waiter this old bint could be heard in the restaurant whilst in the kitchen banging on about it for a good 10 minutes everyone could hear. She eventually came out and told me i didn't ask for extra hash browns. At this point we had nearly finished eating i said dont worry. 10 minutes later out came the hash browns. 2 child breakfast 2 adults 28 pounds!! No compensation for Sarah being rude i didn't even complain about dot cotton at breakfast. Faulty towers Had to wait on check out because someone had emptied stolen the newly weds gifts and there was not any customer service there either šŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ

Another poor service, food was good, but we went as a group, asked for separate bills, weren't given separate bills, basically told to work it out ourselves, they did eventually help to sort it, overall service was atrocious, usual lady not in, we have been going here over 2 years, but apparently the lady that served us, wasn't new, but we have never seen her before! So disappointed. Also something to be aware of, the DJ that seems to be pretty regular, blocks the exit to the car park, verbally abuses you for wanting to get past him! Raw rump! So disappointed, we have been coming here for over two years, and they have now changed the 6menu, no fillet steaks! The rump was rare, not medium rare, and was told by the chef that this is medium rare. We couldn't get the steak knife through it! Service was poor, usual lady was not serving, waited a long time before our order was taken, we weren't asked if everything was alright, had to ask to order sweets, which was only luke warm when it arrived We used to have the best food and service here, which meant we could overlook the tired decor and uncomfortable seats, last few times have been quite poor. Won't be returning! Been here lots of times, steaks are delicious, one was a little smaller this time, had a bit of a wait for our sweet, but we will definitely return, hopefully be back up to the usual exemplary standards.

Borough Arms Hotel – Room 29 26 King Street, Stoke-on-Trent, ST5 1HX, United Kingdom I was disappointed with my stay here. The room was advertised on Booking.com as a 30 m² double room with a bathtub, but in reality it was nowhere near that size — the entire room (including the bathroom) was under 10 m². Instead of a bathtub, there was only a very tiny shower room where it was almost impossible to move between the toilet, sink, and shower. I booked at Ā£51.69, but the hotel charged me Ā£56.18. When I questioned this at reception, the lady showed me the invoice and told me there was nothing she could do — that I had to sort it out with Booking.com. The bathroom was unsafe: the electrical radiator was unstable and wobbly (a hazard in a wet area), and the shower took 10–15 minutes of running dangerously hot water before it became usable. The room itself (No. 29) was uncomfortable: located on the top (third) floor, with no lift and only access via multiple narrow corridors and flights of stairs. At night, the room was noisy due to the busy street outside. There was no cooling fan, and the room was so cramped that the desk could barely fit a laptop — I even had to move the TV aside to use it. Overall, misleading advertising, overcharging, unsafe conditions, and poor comfort. šŸ‘‰ But if you’re alright with all that, then this is the perfect place for you to stay.

My wife and I booked the Borough arms hotel in Newcastle under Lyme for our wedding. Too be honest it was our first choice. We only wanted a small gathering and this was the perfect venue for us as it was easy for all our guests to get to, we had guests coming from as far as Devon, wales and winsford, so with it being an hotel guests had the option to book rooms to stay the night of the wedding. |We had a wedding coordinator who helped us every step of the way in planning our special day. |As the Borough arms hotel is licensed to conduct ceremonies there we decided to have our wedding all in one place, so guests did not have to travel to 2 different venues. |So we booked the baker room which our ceremony took place. |We submitted our song choices for the ceremony which Jennifer kindly put the songs on a cd as the usb didn’t work. |On the day we were having flowers, cake being delivered which the staff took care of and put them where they needed to be|The baker room was set out with the colours we wanted.|Over the road there is a nice area where photos can be taken, sadly as our wedding was in October we couldn’t guarantee the weather, but we did manage to get some decent pictures before the rain came, but if the weather is good it’s a great place to get some nice pictures. |After the ceremony we went to the bar area where people had their drinks whilst photos were being taken. Then our guests were ushered into the room where we had our wedding breakfast, the room was decorated beautifully to our colours .my wife and I were then announced as Mr and Mrs,|The food that our guests ordered were served table by table which is a great system and it didn’t take long for all the tables to receive their food. |We ordered wine for the tables for our guests and provided stickers for the bottles which the staff kindly put on the bottles. |The 3 course meal was amazing and good portions, the servers were so friendly and professional nothing was too much trouble for them.|After the meal we were served tea and coffee. |When all the speeches were done the room was then getting ready for the evening reception.|We used the hotels Dj who was brilliant and kept to our playlist. |Overall Jennifer and her team made our special day amazing and we could not thank them enough.|So if you’re looking for a wedding venue I would recommend the Borough Arms hotel in Newcastle under Lyme. |Great service from...

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The rate for the room was cheap (£42pn). Good location, about a 10 minute cab ride into Stoke on Trent for a gig we were attending. We were just looking for somewhere to put our heads down for the night, grab a shower and leave in the morning. Free car park but you must give your reg to reception as there are signs warning about being clamped if you aren't a hotel guest. The entrance to the hotel car park didn't want to work on our sat nav but it is right next to the entrance/exit of the pay and display car park next door. We didn't have breakfast but it was around £8pp. The room included a hand towel/bath sheet for each person, a tea tray and some soaps. The room was clean but in need of updating. Mattresses in our room needed replaced as they offered no support and wound up waking up several times in the night in pain. The bedroom was okay other than a window that we opened in the morning wouldn't close again. The bathroom was probably the most tired part of the room, rusty shower rail, cracked bath panel, grubby shower curtain and the taps were the wrong way round (cold tap was on the left, should be on the right). We couldn't get any hot water in the morning but we think this may have been due to demand from other guests. We were in the "annexe" with our room door leading straight to the outside, the door let a lot of the road noise into the room. I'm not sure about night access to the main building but it was handy not to have to ring a night porter when we came back late at night. Small details would improve the experience like making sure there were 2 teaspoons in the room for 2 guests, getting some slightly better loo roll, replacing the very tired pillows (only 1 flat pillow on each bed and somehow even flatter spare pillow for each person in the wardrobe) and checking the duvet covers aren't inside out. Would potentially stay here again due to the location but would try to make sure we had a room in the main building...
