I don't like to leave negative reviews but unfortunately my tables experience was pretty poor on our visit. The table was booked for 19:45pm 3 of the guests arrived and were seated at 19:30pm and ordered their drinks the remaining guests arrived at 19:40pm and ordered drinks but everyone's drinks finally got to the table at 19:55pm this set the tone for the night we felt rushed when our order was taken and after that our table seemed forgotten about during service we were at the restaurant until 22:20pm and only once were we asked if we'd like any more drinks after arrival.

The starters the 2 orders of hot honey chicken wings were both missing the hot honey and the scallops & pork belly was laughable 2 scallops was fair for the price but the 2 thin slices of pork belly wasn't even close with my friend who ordered it joking "where's my starter".

With the mains my 16oz ribeye came extra rare when I ordered medium-rare the re-fire was pretty fast and the cook on the steak was much better. A friend had verbally ordered the cote de boeuf and when it came we thought it looks rather small for 28oz and after a few days of deliberation we checked with the person who had a picture of the receipt that he was actually given the chateaubriand thankfully the price is the same but the mistake itself shouldn't of happened in the first place.

The desserts were fine except when we were given a dessert menu then didn't get the order taken for an additional 30 minutes which was very disappointing. A friend had also called in advance to add another guest and to have a happy birthday message written on one of the desserts as we were celebrating my birthday which was also missing on the night.

For the amount we spent on the experience we had the service was extremely lacking and really put a dampener on what was supposed to be a...

Miller and Carter in Talke presents a commendable dining experience, meriting a solid four-star rating. The restaurant offers a delightful menu, and even those who aren't particularly fond of steaks will find the food quite agreeable. The dishes are well-prepared, featuring a variety of flavours and options that cater to different palates, ensuring a satisfying meal for everyone at the table.

The service at Miller and Carter is particularly noteworthy, especially our server, Willow. Willow's perfect timing, pleasant demeanor, and attentive service greatly enhanced our dining experience. She struck the ideal balance between attentiveness and discretion, ensuring that our meal was seamless and enjoyable. Her professionalism and warmth made us feel welcomed and valued, contributing significantly to the positive aspects of our visit.

However, the restaurant falls slightly short in terms of atmosphere. While it's neither overly quiet nor uncomfortably loud, there's a certain buzz missing that many diners look for in a dining experience. The ambiance doesn't detract from the quality of the food or service but lacks the liveliness or character that might make the meal more memorable. It's not a significant drawback but something that, if improved, could elevate the entire dining experience.

In conclusion, Miller and Carter in Talke is a reliable choice for a good meal, with commendable service and a menu that accommodates a wide range of tastes. Willow, in particular, deserves a special mention for her outstanding service. While the atmosphere might need a bit of enlivening, the overall quality of the dining experience remains largely unaffected. A solid four-star establishment where the positives definitely outweigh the minor areas for...

We came here for lunch recently and would definitely return back. The lunch time special is very reasonably priced, with each course (starter, main and desert) all being decent portion sizes. I had 3 items from the lunch time special, the mushrooms to start, which were cooked well, and full of flavour, the cheese really came through for me, especially when added to the bread. I had the cheese and bacon burger for the main, and it was delicious. Loads of flavour without the greasiness you can sometimes get from burgers. I'd definitely get it again and recommend it. I had profiteroles for desert and I was disappointed by them, only because I can't eat chocolate and was told the chocolate came on the side but alas they are dipped in chocolate so I couldn't eat them. I'd have got something else had I known, but as I said, when I asked, I was told the chocolate was on the side. I would have sent them back, but the service was very slow, and I didn't want to have to wait even longer. By the time of paying, we'd been there almost 2 hours, which is too long for lunch for me. Due to the issue with the profiteroles and the slow service, I've removed a star. My partner had a starter (the prawns and avocado) from the main menu, which she said was really lovely but a bit lacking on the avocado. She had the steak sandwich and the apple pie from the lunch time special menu and said both were really fantastic, full of flavour, and would definitely get them again. Overall we had a lovely time, the food was cooked really well, the prices were great, and the staff were really friendly, polite, and professional, They maybe needed another person on as we did find it to be slow service. We will definitely be going back again, though, and do recommend...

Upon our first visit to Miller & Carter, we were pleasantly surprised. Prior to our arrival, we made a booking which was highly recommended, especially since it was a busy Friday night with most tables already reserved. We also took advantage of signing up for the Newsletter, which offered us free wine upon our visit. Upon arrival, we had to wait in a small queue to be seated. There was no host at the desk initially, as the staff were busy serving delicious dishes and drinks. However, after a few minutes, a team member acknowledged the waiting guests and we were seated promptly. Our wine was served, and we perused the menus provided. We opted for seafood starters and decided to try the "cote de boeuf experience" at Miller & Carter for our main course - a highly recommended choice. However, to our surprise, there were limited stocks available, and our waitress Amanda had to confirm its availability before proceeding. We were delighted with our choice as the meat was perfectly cooked and even came with a Lobster Tail. It was my first time trying lobster, and I found it to be sweet and tender, reminiscent of crab but slightly sweeter, cleaner, and lighter. The experience included a bottle of wine and cost £100, easily serving two people. Amanda, our waitress, was attentive, personable, and never intrusive. She, along with the delicious food, truly added to the dining experience and is the reason I am giving a 5-star rating. We will definitely return. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

We visited Miller and Carter talke for a mother's day meal on the Sunday. We were greeted by front of house, only to be told that our booking was invalid as we should of booked for 3 people even though our 6 month old baby obviously wasn't eating and didn't require a space. When placing the booking I left a note stating we would need a space for a pram. We were left waiting for 5 minutes only to be told that everything was fine and they were able to accommodate. (Why make a big deal about it in the first place, they read the note and was already aware and had foreseen the issue, still decided to teach me a lesson maybe?) Either way, first impressions not great. We then ordered drinks and I had to change my daughter. Off I went to the baby change facilities and was greeted with what can only be described as the worst and dirtiest facitiles I've come across since having my daughter. I made a member of staff from behind the bar aware of it, had to go again roughly 30 minutes later and it was in exactly the same state. When our food arrived the onion loaf was cold and undercooked. I pointed this out to a waiter only to be told that is how it should be and that he could get me another piece, but it will be exactly the same. Very disappointed with this visit as we use to come here all the time a few years ago and loved it. Seems they have forgotten the basics, didn't feel as personal and sadly couldn't recommend after this visit.
