Went for lunch yesterday,party of four got there for twelve,two meals for £10.99 ,got charged the normal price £7.50 scampy £7.99 fish and chips,the fish got sent back twice with the bar maid,two other meals were burger and the chicken sharing nacho platter, the only decent thing was the burger but u couldn't say it was the whole meal, don't waist your money going to the fox and hounds,it's dark dingy and the food is disgusting, the chicken nacho platter was stale over microwaved to death,we only went because my mum wanted to go,it was her 80th and having dementia she was going back to the days it was lovely, along time ago!!! Read moreWe booked a birthday dinner, with our 3 children, only to arrive and found we had a dirty table, next to an area that was sectioned off because the ceiling was collapsing. When i went to order food the first staff member just walked off, about 6 minutes later someone else came only to tell us that what we wanted wasn't available ( half the menu wasn't available). We left with the children in tears, the night was almost destroyed luckily after some ringing around we ended up at the Duke of Wellington which is also a greene king but much better staff and a much better atmosphere. Read moreI was looking for somewhere to eat in Benwell as I'm not from these parts and was advised by a gentleman that the Fox and Hounds was a nice pub that did food so headed there. Whilst there I ordered a 'Motherclucker' which is a man v food challenge.....my God it was huge! I had to flatten it down with my hand as it was the only way I could get it in my mouth. The pub itself is nice, the staff are friendly and it's very reasonably priced.
