Greggs — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

I have always enjoyed Greggs Bakery its just one reason & a good reason to be proud of our City of Newcastle Upon Tyne & the fact our Bakery is now nation wide & I hear may even be going global... not sure if that is true or not but Ryan Reynolds loves the Sausage Rolls ( See YouTube ) & he said he wants them over seas as have a few other big names on that channel which I won't say the name of incase it is not ok to do so.

& though I do remember the good old days where you could get ×4 Sausage Rolls for £1 sadly those days are long gone but I still love the food & the nostalgic feeling it gives me of my childhood & better times etc, there are no better bakers in my opinion & I have tried many of them throughout the country Greg's reigns supreme for me... now I am always gutted lately when I go to Greggs, it has happened the last eight times I have gone at all different times of the day where I can't get my very favourite food which is the Mighty Steak Bake... I normally buy atleast 4 & lately I can't even get one, it gutted me as I find it hard to get around due to my disability so going around to other shops is harder for me than others even though we know there is a Big G's on every high street, we have two on ours but I find it harder to get to the top one. Either way, I am not making a complaint, I am purely trying to say how much I love their food & how Dissapointing it is when I can't get my favourite item. I highly recommend the Ham & Cheese Toasty which is even harder to get & the Sandwiches are gorgeous too though they could do with a bit more filling as the baguettes are lush but not much inside them & they are quite pricey. Anyway we have the very best Bakery on the face of the globe & we should be proud of that not just in Newcastle but the whole of the North East.

To Greggs, Please make more Steak Bakes & send them...

Pretty miffed again ...ordered only it was delivered wrong ..called to rectify and was told to place another small order and my missing items from the previous would be put in that one ...so I did ...and guess what nothing at all came ... My little lads were very disappointed and I felt terrible ...it's a shame because since this happened we've had about three more deliveries from Greggs as customers we feel undervalued ...there are other place we could spend our money but we have two little boys who love a sausage roll and donut! ...shame despite paying for both...

Standard Greggs quality. Go for ultra cheap scran and brews. The coffee (having sampled many other Gregg's outlets across the City) is good by comparison. My criticism of other Gregg's stores is that their coffee is weak. I don't think this is an issue here. We're on Shields Road now don't forget, so don't be alarmed if the place is full of 'characters' and SCUD missiles raineth...
