Review for Kane at Miller & Carter We had an incredible dining experience at Miller & Carter, and it was largely thanks to Kane, who we quickly learned is the "steak pro" of the establishment. From start to finish, Kane's expertise and dedication to providing exceptional service made our visit unforgettable. The moment Kane approached our table, his enthusiasm and deep knowledge about the menu were evident. He guided us through the steak options with the precision of someone who truly understands their craft. Kane didn't just recommend cuts of meat—he shared insights about each steak’s flavor profile, preparation techniques, and the perfect pairings for sides and sauces. The steaks were cooked to perfection, just as Kane promised. Each bite was tender, flavorful, and expertly seared—a true testament to the skill in the kitchen and Kane's attention to detail in helping us make our choices. He also checked in at just the right moments, ensuring everything was perfect without being intrusive. Beyond his expertise, Kane’s warm and professional demeanor stood out. He made us feel welcomed, valued, and cared for throughout the meal. It's rare to encounter someone with such a combination of passion, knowledge, and charisma in the service industry. Miller & Carter, you have a gem in Kane. We'll definitely be back, not just for the amazing food but for the exceptional service that Kane. Congrats on the wedding mate.

This was a long one, so for people wanting a quick opinion here’s my summary. Edit: Thanks for the cut a paste response to this miller & carter. If your going to respond to reviews respond authentically or not at all. Dropping to one star for that. Just shows how little you care. •• You can get a better steak else where and not feel ripped off or like brain washed cattle. It’s just ok but it’s not worth it 4 mains 1 sharing starter and a bottle of wine total of a little more than £160. Plays on the fact it’s expensive so people think it’s premium. They fill the table (with cheap sides and garnish) so you feel like you’ve got value. Put the waiters in shirt, tie and waist coats to appear like there’s class. Packed in like cattle with little space from the next table and Steaks aren’t anything special. •• Ok I’ve been meaning to review this one for a while and it was my first time at a miller and carter. As you go in it looks the part with its wine glass entrance leading on to the bar and host stand as not to let the outside elements in to the seated guests which I liked. We where given a buzzer and told to sit in the bar which is where I’ll start. Bar: Clumsy and more interested in there own banter than listening to customers. Areas small an feels like they over book their tables so they can get a pre drink out of you to up their spend pre head. Atmosphere: Bustling! Tables packed in to maximise capacity with little space between. Expect someone’s rear in your face when the table next to you moves. Felt more like a holiday hotel buffet. The bell ringing when complements when to the kitchen felt over worked and fake. More substantially telling everyone “your foods good everyone else says so”. Service: Held the fort he! Service was great and credit to our server zoe for being a star. Quick, friendly and helpful. Food: After looking over the menu I thought you can get a steak anywhere and I love a ribeye so why not get one from the steaks to explore section so I ordered GRAIN FED RIBEYE 8OZ over the regular 12OZ described 50day aged with Fine marbling results in an intensely packed flavour, recommended medium. Sounds taste! I order medium as recommend. Ordered with fries and comes with a wedge of lettuce. Came out more rare than medium but that didn’t bother me I just wonted it as they recommend. The Steak was nice but small! I get it’s 8OZ pre cooked weight before you say. But the 12OZ is a quid more or the 16OZ for 6 quid more would be a better size (my friends ordered these). It’s premium! It’s grain fed! Can you tell? Simple answer no! It’s was soft and well rested but had no major in pack that would make me order it again over the others which tasted just as good. I ordered mine with beef drip which is the pot in the picture almost the same size as my steak. This was tasty and made the steak taste better but you could easy do the same with a cheaper cut and it would taste the same. Fries are fries, regular inexpensive 10mm skin on fries you’ll find in any restaurant. A wedge of lettuce. Most dishes have garnish of some kind to decorate the plate add colour or simply accompany the dish. It does none of the above. It’s a talking point if anything and a cheap table filler. Fried onion loaf as a spin on your regular onion rings was ok but everything just felt like inexpensive space fillers on the plate. Ordered an extra side for tender stem broccoli to accompany as the lettuce was pointless which was nice. To summarise You can get a better steak else where and not feel ripped off or brain washed cattle. It’s just ok but it’s not worth it 4 mains 1 sharing starter and a bottle of wine total £160. Plays on the fact it’s expensive so people think it’s premium. They fill the table (with cheap sides and garnish) so you feel like you’ve got value. Put the waiters in shirt tie and waist coats to appear like there’s class. Packed in like cattle with little space from the next table and Steaks aren’t anything special.

Christmas Eve in Miller & Carter Steakhouse (Newcastle) ☃️ In our entire 3 years in Geordieland, we’ve actually never stepped foot here before, despite hearing all the great reviews! So, for our first visit (finally), we brought Baby Ru along (Day 20 of life) and had a celebratory dinner 👶🏼❤️ The place was bustling! The wait was surprisingly pleasant, as there’s a specific section by the bar just to wait for seating comfortably. We ordered the Christmas Mocktails - Spiced Forest Fizz & Berry Twinkles. Oof, loved them. Perfect start. I’m a steak newbie (apologies 😅) as you can see from my posts. So, I had to chose the Award Winning 30 day aged Ribeye, 16oz, medium (recommended by the menu). A huge wedge of lettuce was served, much to my surprise - it was enjoyable, also a little confusing. Was that the salad? 😅 naive me. The steak was lovely - marbled beautifully, with a delicious sear. I couldn’t finish it - but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Michelle had a Sea Bass Fillet and a smoky slow roasted tomato soup. Baby Ru had his share of milk in the lovely ambience of the restaurant. Haha. The whole meal was about £85 - while it was almost double or triple of what we normally spend in our usual haunts, it was an opportune moment to celebrate; Christmas and the birth of our Baby Ru in Geordieland. ❤️

First of all, I would like to say that I was satisfied with this experience. The food quality, service, and atmosphere were great. It was a busier place than I had expected. The service was fast, and the waiter was attentive, offering us some recommendations. We really enjoyed the steak, but there were a few sinewy parts that I encountered. Despite chewing several times, I couldn’t swallow them. While the meat was generally tender and easy to eat, I would have preferred not to come across those sinewy bits. Aside from the sinewy parts of the steak, the doneness and tenderness were excellent. The sauces and potatoes that came with the dish were also very good. However, I found the separate plate of lettuce with mayonnaise and parmesan a bit odd. The lettuce was simply quartered and placed on the plate, which felt underwhelming alongside such a well-prepared steak. It didn’t quite match the quality of the rest of the meal. We had the Butcher’s Block, which is served for two, and aside from the few sinewy parts ı mentioned earlier, we really enjoyed it. The variety of wines on the menu was also impressive, and we were pleased with the selection. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience, and ı would definitely recommend it for a nice evening out.

We visited on 28/02 for a birthday dinner, the staff were polite and pleasant, the restaurant lovely and clean, I had tried two different cocktails, both were lovely. When it comes to the meal itself however I could only give it a 2.5/3 out of 5 I'm afraid, we both got steaks, I got a fillet and my partner got a ribeye however we didn't enjoy them at all. I ordered my fillet medium but when it came it was really difficult to cut through an very chewy, all my accompaniments however were delicious including the chips, sauce, onion wedges and lettuce wedges so the meal wasn't totally ruined but the main feature of the main was not impressive unfortunately. My partner got the ribeye steak however found he had to leave the majority due to the sheer amount of fat that was ran all about the outside and throughout the middle too. I did express the disappointment with my steak to our server who did apologise when coming to take our plates away. Overall we didn't really rate this as a steakhouse and thought it was a little overpriced given our disappointment with the steaks.

If I could give this moat amazing experience a 10 ⭐️ I would. As someone who has an allergy, it was amazing to feel confident in the serving person. I felt totally confident in his sound knowledge of the menu that I was 'safe'. His wine knowledge was very impressive too. From the moment we walked in we were looked after. The food was totally amazing for both of us, so totally amazing that this is lacking photos, we enjoyed the moment that much, the phone was away! The menus are impressive, and they have a link to glass onion to select your allergen, which tells you what you can or can't eat. I did this before we choose to visit, plus dropped them an email with regards my allergy. The whole restaurant was vibrant, but not loud, it had great design and high architecture, which meant although they had alot of tables in it felt very airy. Overall this was a totally amazing experience which I would really love to go back to. "Jonny" our server was so, so helpful, his experience was invaluable.
