I ordered food via Uber Eats from a place called K-Town Chicken. After paying £18.93 for a burger, fries and 4 chicken tenders that came with a free can of Fanta, only 2 cans of Fanta and a small pot of sauce arrived. One hour later of googling and I found the only address that was the same as K-Town Chicken was Slug & Lettuce Newcastle Central..I called and got told by a waitress I needed to speak to the manager because she handles the K-Town Chicken complaints as they cook ther under her manager at the Slug & Lettuce. The manager came on the phone and told me she would resend the order. An hour later nothing had arrived and I received a call from a Korean man apparnetly from Uber Eats (the phone number showed CALIFORNIA??!!) telling me I had to repay for the order as I had been refunded £11. I said where is the other £8 of my payment and was told K-Town Chicken kept it for the 2 cans of Fanta that were delivered!!! I tried calling the manager at Slug & Lettuce back and my calls kept going to an answering machine. I am horrified and disgusted that a highly respected franchise like Slug & Lettuce allows this to happen. When I told the manager I now had hungry children at 8.30 after waiting over an hour for our order sje did not even apologise. I have reported the manager to the Slug & Lettuce franchise head office in London!!!! How us Korean food being cooked in an English pub chain and being sold on...
Read moreMyself and a group of old friends came here for a couple of cocktails and a catchup, booked a table excited to meet up again. Cocktails were nice enough if a little pricey, but our evening was THOROUGHLY dampened by our waitress Abi. Her attitude was honestly appalling for anyone, but especially someone in customer service at a chain of bars we have had SUCH good experiences with in the past at other locations. Abi was blunt, no smiles, rude and dismissive when we asked about what was in each cocktail. We honestly just gave up talking to her but her antisocial behaviour really brought down our whole mood.
Now bear in mind we were a group of 40 something year old women, not a gaggle taking the piss being rowdy, so I have no idea where her disdain came from as soon as we sat down?
We each had two cocktails and left early. We will NOT be revisiting this branch if this is the standard you hold your staff to. I would instead recommend the Quayside branch, not far from this one and staff have always been friendly...
Read moreDid a bottomless brunch for my 30th birthday, was left extremely disappointed. We had to keep going to bar to ask for someone to come take drink orders, one time 2 drinks were missing then another time we had to go to bar to ask where drinks were only for another order to be taken because they didn't know what happened to first order then first order arrived few minutes later, never received the second order. We had our second lot of drinks when I had to ask if we could now order our food as nobody had been over to take our food order, I would have expected to have been asked after first drinks were served. They then took half of groups payments, disappeared, came back a bit later when in the middle of eating to take rest of tables order then forgot to take card machine with them. I had to hand it back to them as we were getting ready to leave as they seemed to have completely forgot it was left...
