On The Go Pizza — Restaurant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Rang bang on 5pm for meal to be delivered. Prices are great, deals are great and it had 20% off when ordering online, brilliant. Was told 54 minute delivery time. 1 HOUR and 15 minutes later I rang to ask where food was, man on phone acted as he didn't know what I was talking about, then said it would be another 10 minutes. 20 minutes later it eventually turned up So on menu kids meal says popcorn chicken with cheese nuggets, brilliant my 2 year old granddaughters favourite when it turned up the cheese nuggets were jalapeno cheese poppers, it doesn't even say on menu that the jalapeno ones are sold there. In the option box online when ordering I asked for hot chilli sauce with my kebab and also just red cabbage for the salad, they sent sweet chilli and apparently they don't serve red cabbage which I have never heard of when buying kebabs. Also on the menu it says kebab come with tortilla, this was more like a naan bread and was wrapped around the kebab and was so greasy and soggy from the meat it was inedible. I did ring and complain about this and they did deliver a kids meal with mozzarella sticks and chips and extra fruit shoot but by this time everyone had finished eating. Absolutely awesome pizza from this place! I used to go to somewhere else nearby but thought I'd give On The Go a whirl and oh boy am I glad. It was quite simply the nicest pizza I've ever had - and I've had pizza in Italy and New York etc. Their base is phenomenal, light and crispy. I can't wait to go back - I'm just split between trying one of the wraps now as if they're as good as the pizzas I'll never be away from the place! They aren't taking card payment so make sure you take cash or you'll have to transfer or use the pay cashpoint nearby. I span down to the Quayside with mine and enjoyed it with a view. Nice friendly staff and clean and tidy inside....

Having lived around the Chillingham Road/Heaton area as a student for a couple of years, this quickly became my local takeaway as it was within good walking distance from both of my former student houses. I can recommend this takeaway to other students, and people in general, who live in the area as the service is good, honest, and quick. The food is also great with fair and balanced prices to match. The delivery was sometimes a bit questionable, as on the odd occasion the driver would not be able to find my house. However, that does not change the fact that this is a great takeaway and probably the best in the area having tried a few...
