I've been visiting The Lily Tree Bakery for over three years now, and the quality has been consistently outstanding the entire time. The bakery’s atmosphere is lovely, and you are always greeted by either Chris or Jaz, the wonderful couple who run the business. Being dairy-free and gluten-free, the variety they offer is amazing. Their selection includes cakes, breads, scotch eggs, biscuits, pasties, and more, with the stock changing each day so there’s always something different. They’ve built a very strong sense of community around their bakery. The service is friendly and the quality of their products is exceptional. Even when freezing or reheating the day after, everything tastes just as good. They also have stock come out later in the day too so you can catch fresh hot treats throughout the day. The quality is excellent, with many vegan and vegetarian choices available. Everything is 100% gluten-free, nut-free, and soya-free, making it a safe for Celiacs. Fridays and Saturdays offer the most variety, and you can preview the days choices on their social media, where they also post videos so you can properly take a look at all the treats available. They are very good with communication, letting customers know before hand if they will be closed, the few times it happens. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality you’re receiving. I highly recommend their gluten-free bread - it’s the best I've ever had. I go there every chance I get, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-quality, gluten-free baked goods.

The Lily Tree Bakery is a dietary requirement dream come true! Not only are they 100% nut free, soy free, and gluten free (coeliac safe), but they are happy to discuss all ingredients within their products. (Vegan and dairy free also available and they label all of this clearly for you). They offer many multiple flavours and styles of various savoury and sweet products, including freezable, packaged, and DIY goods. They even create some unique items (e.g. one of my favourites; the millionaire rice krispy)! They offer seasonal products, full boxes, and even gift vouchers! They even truly pay close attention to what each customer loves most. Not only do they have their bakery, but they attend Saltburn Farmer’s Market every second Saturday of the month, they offer deliveries, and they will always keep things behind for you - they are just a message away! Anyone I know who does not have dietary requirements say it looks/tastes/smells just as good as, if not better than ‘normal’ food ! Other examples of their products include the Cinnabon style cinnamon bun and different styles of donuts! I have tried other bakeries whilst away and none have ever been a good as The Lily Tree Bakery! (I do not have many photos as I am usually too quickly eating them)!

My son and I went to the bakery for the first time today after reading the chronicle write up. It was wonderful! I had enquired about additional allergies through Facebook messenger and nothing was a problem. They very kindly kept a few savoury items aside without egg wash before baking so my son could have them. The selection of savoury and sweet products on offer was amazing and my son was over the moon to have so many options. Knowing it was safe for him to eat made my mama heart so happy! He's allergic to Wheat, Oats, Dairy, Soya & Egg. We'll definitely be back!!

I feel so bad writing this out but I swear I'll re-write if do visit & things have improved.. First of all the person in the shop serving was indeed lovely and very friendly & knowledgeable about local offerings. BUT, the food here was really not good. We were actually shocked by how not good. Additional to this was that the venue itself looked like it needed a deep clean the food storage was chaotic and messy the fridge counters were dirty .. yes.. I still bought food despite this regrettably so, a pie that looked very "peaky" upon cutting into it what can only be described as water ran out of it chicken inside equally looked and tasted below par .. we spent ÂŁ20 on 4 items and they were all binned. Most of it because it was quite stale and also tasteless .. I feel sad because I'd hope someone would want to help this business out but it seems no one is reading these reviews from there, I have to agree with a lot of the previous negative comments - I do think this place could be special again it just needs some work & without it I see this bakery looming towards indefinite closure .. hope they manage to...
